By Adelmo Famosa: For little over a year now we boxing fans have been feasting on fights from various divisions while we wait on what will be the biggest fight since Sugar Ray Leonard came out of retirement in 1987, and dethroned long time and undisputed middleweight champion Marvin Hagler.

Yes, the Pacquiao-Mayweather story was shelved for a few months as they both had obstacles to overcome. Pacquiao defeated Clottey in March in a bout that was nothing more than than a facade; we all knew the outcome before they even stepped in the ring. I did not know one person in the business; or outwit that picked Clottey to win that fight.

In little over a week the smokescreen will be lifted, Mayweather is due to fight a 38-year-old Shane Mosley, Mayweather will enter the ring hot favourite. So no doubt, when the dust settles, or not; we will re enter the Pacquiao-Mayweather circus.

Ever since the drug testing protocol debacle Manny Pacquiao has a ****** on his back, the only way to shake this is to fight Mayweather. Otherwise, a dark cloud will surround his entire career and the question will remain, “why was it that this man walked away from earning what could have been the biggest purse in the sports history?”
In everyday life we often fool with our friends telling them what unsavoury things we would be peppered to do for a million dollars, yet Pacquiao is turning his back on tens of millions due to a simple drug testing procedure.

What confuses me is this. The Filipino sensation projects the persona that he would be willing to move mountains and walk through walls to give the fans what they what, after all he is the peoples champ, right. So why not agree to any demands, it’s not like Mayweather is asking him to undergo anything he himself will not be subject to.

Do I think Manny is using any kind of performance enhancing drugs, No I do not, however I will start to question him if he walks away from this fight on a permanent basis. As a working class Man myself I cannot relate to another man from walking away from such an amount of money, no matter what his bank balance reads.

I just hope the whole situation was nothing more than a tactic to stir up an interest. Sugar Ray Leonard done a similar thing with Hagler, at one point we thought the fight was a real possibility until Leonard announced he would never step in the ring with Hagler. This only made us what it more, everyone was talking about the possible match-up, and then it happened. Let’s hope on this occasion history repeats itself.

I do. If floyd dominates SSM and has impressive PPV numbers he will believe he has all the leverage in negotiations and pac will not agree.

    its 50/50 no matter what.

end of story. If floyd still wants to use a mosley KO as a bargaining chip, then He HIMSELF is outpricing himself out of the fight.

Wont happen: Bob Arum. Nuff said

He wants to milk his main cashcow as long as possible by matching him against Margarito, Cotto 2, Margarito 2, Chavez jr and whatever else TopRank has. Who can blame him, double promotion-fee $$$

It almost has to happen. There is no way the two best pound for pound fighters of their era, who fight at the same weight, and are about the same age, are going to not fight. I just look at Mayweather/Mosley as the build up bout to a fight with Pac. I think we all know Mayweather is heavily favored to win, and a win over SSM would put his resume more on par with Pac's, so whoever wins the Pac/Mayweather will undoubtably be the best of this era.

I like how the ball is still considered in Team Pac's court, considering Team Floyd is the one who demanded it out of nowhere.

How about I rewrite parts of that article:

In everyday life we often fool with our friends telling them what unsavoury things we would be peppered to do for a million dollars, yet Mayweather is turning his back on tens of millions due to an demand founded upon an unbased insinuation.

What confuses me is this. The American sensation projects the persona that he would be willing to move mountains and walk through walls to get what he wants, money, after all he Money Mayweather, right. So why not drop the demands, it’s not like Pacquiao did anything to bring them about except scare his father.

Do I think Floyd is scared to fight Pac, No I do not, however I will start to question him if he walks away from this fight on a permanent basis. As a working class Man myself I cannot relate to another man named Money from walking away from such an amount of money, no matter how big his ego is.

+1, Floyd outsells emmanuel's previous fights by a large margin. Emmanuel demands an unfair purse split for what he brings to the table. Fight wont' happen.

As a wroking man, you should also not be able to relate to a man walking away from that kind of money because he refused to prove he was clean.
