Bingo. Basically, the "I like him but I hate his fans that's why I am starting not to like him" is just a pathetic BS. How is that for a reason? You are ****in affected by his fans here in this thread that you are hating him now? What are you a kiddo?
As for the thread, you can not force people to like Pac, just because he is an exciting guy who goes inside the ring looking to win and knock people out, and seems humble at the same time.
This content is protected For a lot of people, it's nothing more. I was never a big fan because I didn't care about him or what he did. I didn't care one way or another. But as he began to accomplish more, his fans began to become unbearable, and I kinda want to see them shut down, at least for a little while. Nothing personal against the guy, but I'm not rooting for him. And neither are a lot of other people for the same reason. It's their reason. Live with it.
I wasnt for a while cause 1. He kicked alot of my fav fighters asses(MAB,Morales,Marquez, Cotto,Mab being my fav) 2. I always favor watching skilled textbook(Marquez/Lopez/Wright/Hopkins) fighters or skilled talented fighters with style and rhythm(Jones/Ali/Whitaker/Leonard/Toney) over wild ugly brawlers(Old Pac). I didnt see pacquiao use any skill until the the Diaz, DLH, and Clottey. Every other fight he outbrawls his more skilled opponents and I hate seeing that in boxing. To me its one of the few things that seperate it from MMA, you usually cant be just some wild swinger and be champ of the world. 3. His fans are annoying as ****, but only on message boards, I dont know much filipinos in real life. BUT, pacquiao himself, how can you not love the guy, he trains his ass off, refuses nobody(blame all the careful opponent picking on roach if you must), fighting at a very unnatural weight class and still kicking ass, has a ton of heart, and is a super exiting fighter. I was just a hater for a while but he is awesome.
I actually posted my thoughts on the thread after that first post. And I think that is my point in that first post. There are people who are just not interested nor gets excited with him nor his fights, they are not really a fan of him. Right from the beginning, they are not really a Pac fan, for whatever reason. And I can understand that. Yet, you will see posts like, "I am a fan, or I used to be a fan of him, but because of his fans, or the drug excuses, I am starting to root against him, or wants to lose him", which is IMO, very hypocritical. One is not a fan of a particular fighter, just say it. No need to come up with that "fan excuse" just to pretend he is an objective fan. That is silly. I think Mayweather is a ****, because he talks a lot, but does not walk it. In short, I am not a fan. I can say I want him to lose just to have his nuthuggers shut up but it is not the reason why I am not a Floyd fan.
Nah, bro. Don't backpedal.... Look at your response a few posts up. "Bingo" where you agree that if someone isn;t a fan of Pac, then they are either a bitter Mexican or a Floyd nuthugger. That's bull****. Boxing doesn't revolve around Pac. And people like myself (a lot more than you may believe) who were indifferent to Pac, only to be suddenly bombarded with his fans, are turned off big time, and want to see him get his ass kicked. It's the nature of sports, and you can't discount the effect a person's fanbase has on other people. And to top it off, Pac fans are constantly wanting to know why you aren't one of them. And if you aren't then somehow you aren't a real boxing fan, or you're racist, or you are a Mayweather nuthugger, or you're a bitter Mexican. Not everyone is going t like your guy, and less so the more people try to shove his "likeability" down your throat.
I pretend to hate Pacquaio and always pick against him, but in all honesty, his fights are God damn exciting, he has accomplished great things, and I can't imagine missing one of his fights. I'll still pick against him though - it's fun to see the *******s lose their minds. Plus, I still can't seem to pick against a top WW regardless of his accomplishments. If he beats Floyd or Shane, I'll probably stop picking against him. So in the spirit of trying to maintain some sort of consistency - **** Pac!
That's just it though. Let's go back to the pre-******* days. You knew Pac was a good fighter and I've seen you cheer for far lesser talented and less accomplished fighters. What prevented you back then from even giving a damn about Pac, even just a little, when he was on the rise? I guess it's hard to understand for fans like myself. I was always a Lakers fan. But when Michael Jordan ruled the 90s I couldn't just ignore his talent and pretend that I didn't care. The other question of the TS was what would have made you a Pac fan (back before the irritating *******s) since his talent and accomplishes alone obviously were not enough to make you even care one bit.
Some fighters I like, and some fighters I don't. Some fighters captured my attention and some fighters didn't. Why can't you Pac fans understand this? Not everyone is going to be awed and intrigued by Pac. And the ones who aren't - get sick and tired of hearing about how they should be, unless they're a "*****" or bitter Mexican. And this is what makes people go from indifferent, to wanting to see him get his ass whipped.
This content is protected This content is protected I don't consider you a hater by any means. Alot of Pac fans hate Floyd, but for reasons that are obvious to all boxing fans in general. It's not so clear cut with Pac though especially before his rise and the rise of the annoying *******s.
