S6 has all very quality world class fighters with their own strengths and weaknesses, but to me bute is a special talent who greatness awaits. I'll break down each fighters strenghts and weaknesses and why bute has a more complete fighter profile than the other SMW's. Ward-Great pedigree and all the skill and talent in the world. However, in a fight with kessler in which he was in control he still chose to rush to clinches and foul when he didn't have to. This shows he is a slightly timid fighter who is hiding something. My guess is a lack of physical and mental toughness. Dirrell-see above but even more timidity and a pure coward. AA-POWER, power, and more power, and toughness in spades, but he lacks the gameplan and workrate and seems to rely too much on his power. Froch-The only thing that froch really seems to lack that's keeping him off the p4p lists is a clear disadvantage. Speed. Froch has heart, an awkward style, power, toughness, confidence and a pure fighters gaul. Kessler-fundamentally sound as can be and is very strong, heavyhanded and a real championship level fighter. Kessler's bullett is his lack of style. plain and simple. A more versatile offense would make kessler damn near unbeatable. Also think kessler is in decline since he lost his undefeated mentality. Green-only in this tourney because of a default. He hasn't mixed with world class, so is really a ? at this point. Which brings us to bute. His demolition of miranda, and the fact that he took risks to shine in front of the HBO stage shows that bute will only accept winning and greatness. Stamina is/was the only question surrounding bute, but an article proves bute had a minor case of food poisoning 3 days before the first andrade fight could be a legit excuse. Maybe not, but he was up at the count of 8 and finshed the fight on his feet, and he left no doubt in the rematch. The romanian has it all. Speed, versatility of offense like no one at '68, fight ending power, angle usage, range, a good chin, guile, footwork, and lastly, an invicibilty aura that exudes greatness. While i think that the fight that decides the best at 168 will be decided b/n ward and bute, i just cannot see ward imposing his will on bute. I can see bute hurting ward, and matching him for skill and jockying for generalship to win an uncontroversial decision to win the ring mag SMW title.
Bute is the best at fighting tomato cans in Canada Kessler, Froch, Abraham, Dirrell, Ward, Green (and Taylor) are risking everything against the best competition whilst Bute is claiming to be the best fighting tomato cans at home thinking he deserves a shot at the winner and then hes automatically the best when the winner has had 5 fights against the divisions top guys.
We don't know that. Bute beat Andrade who was schooled by Kessler KO'd Miranda who was KO'd by Abraham and schooled by Ward. Really no indication he's the top SMW.
remember Bute vs Andrade 1...? Let's see Bute fight someone before talking about him in the top spot at 168
Wow. I didn't know my thread would attract only armchair fans who watch boxing 3 times a year. Any hardcore's out there?
Andrade KO'd Bute until the Canadians fixed it so 9 seconds lasted about 13 seconds. I bet Bute loses to more than one of these guys after the Super Six.
Sorry to spoil your Bute ass licking thread. Maybe you should have posted that in the thread title and told us non-nuthuggers to stay out.
So far it looks the same can be said for almost everyone in the tournament. The only one who hasn't lost so far is Ward...
Yeah take this to the Canadian boxing forums where they belive him pounding on shot bums makes him better than 6 guys going to war in competative fights.
Yeah but they are fighting fellow top guys, Bute well just isn't, his resume stinks and he is just a HBO/Canadian hype machine, he is basically the Canadian Hatton Only his resume is even worse than Hattons was pre Tyszu.
Bute's best wins are against guys who proved they were very beatable and tailor made for his style, even with that he should of lost his first fight against Andrade. Lets see him fight better, more dynamic competition before making such claims. At this point he is heavily overrated imo.
It's only an ass-licking thread to simple minded pricks like you. BTW, ass-licking? where are you? Prison? Faaaaaaag!
