I was listening to the Bubba the love sponge show (www.btls.com) And Antonio Tarver was on speaking about the super six comp coming up on Showtime and he was talking about Danny Green saying how he is trying to get the fight signed but Danny Green is dodging him... He later went on to say he hopes the fight will be signed for August and in Australia if Danny Green gets the balls and signs.. it was probably a 20 minute interview.
Thats the part that sux with boxing, green says tarver won't sign etc, now tarver says Green is doin the same, all the bull**** that goes on before some blokes get in the ring or it doesn't eventuate etc can be a ****in turn off.
Geez, don't know how I missed that interview - that site usually breaks all the big fight stories too. Seriously though, hope Green & Tarver do meet at some stage.
i hope this fight happens so i can make some money... danny will come in fave but Tarver will outclass him
As long as Tarver is in fighting shape i'd say we will see a class lesson put on Danny. Aussie bookies will hopefully believe all the Green hype and bet some good odds Tarver.
The hype Green has generated around himself does not give him an option to back out. They are probably both blaming each other but in reality are squabbling over the purse. Cred to Green if he can get Tarver our but I reckon we'd have a new IBO champ if it went ahead.
Green was quoted as saying he'd let Tarver have the lot except the Aussie $PPV. Like in war true seems to be the first casualty in these matters. Perhaps an independent observer should attend fight negotiations and provide a true account of who's pulling the public's leg when a deal can't get made and plainly one side or the other is talking through the arse!
i see green beating up tarver, who would more than likely be happy to just pick up his big pay cheque and he won't have an answer for greens aggression.
I wouldn't get too carried away with "He said, She said" An absolutely bearded ploy in this game is to wait until a fighter has signed for a fight, or well into negotiations with someone, then start the chest beating. How many times have we seen management drop negotions & take the fight, only to read a month later that the chest beating challenger has broken his arsehole or something & needs a "postponement". Let's see what pans out.
Green will say he has previously screwed around by Tarver which he has in fairness too him and end up fighting Briggs. but if it does go ahead Tarver outpoints him.i watched the last Tarver-Dawson fight and he won a few rounds.
Hugely exciting fight wasn't it? He only won a few cos even Chad nodded off in the middle. Tarvers best days are long gone.
yes.i forgot to put this on Ippy's ''confess your PPV sins''thread.still i think the few he won are a few more than Danny would if e faced Dawson.still Tarver has ****ed Green around twice.1st when they were supposed to fight for the IBO belt then he reneged on the contract and Green ended up fightingDrews and more recently when Tarver was stringing him on uhmming and aahing when he was trying to keep Green hanging while he was trying line up a fight with James Toney from what i've read.**** Tarver is what i would say if i was Green.why give him a pay day.
