Most of the people that posted on this thread have NO idea what they're talking about.... no he's not long odds because of head movement, or foot speed, or his age........ you see MAYBE...... just MAYBE.. Shane might be a heavy underdog....because....... he's fighting an undefeated superstar and is a has been with no recent public exposure = nobody bets on him = long odds I think his odds will shorten as the week goes on though.
It amazes me how You guys always push Mosley's age up a year and Floyd's Back.LOL Floyd turned 33 in Feb and Mosley is turns 39 in Sept 6 months from now. So I guess by your theory Floyd could turn old over night also because he's at the Prime cut of Period 26-33.LOL
How is that anything to do with the odds. There are/were odds out there. Mayweather slight favorite. Like 1.8 compared to 2 for Pac, or 4/5 and evens.
Truthfully Floyd hasn't fought a legit Fight fight in 36 months.LOL Marquez was a mismatch. He was a virgin at welterweight and wasn't gifted in carrying his speed and power up 2 weight classes. So Floyd did what any elite welter weight would of done. If Floyd would of came out of retirement and fought one of the top welterweights then it would be a different story. Floyd hasn't look spectacular since he beat Gatti and that was 5 years ago. He also hasn't fought a serious threat since De La Hoya 3 yrs ago.
I'm glad Shane didn't hear that before he beat Margarito, he was seven yrs older than him, or Hopkins before he beat Pavlik, he was 17 years older, or Calzaghe before he beat Lacy, he was 5 yrs older , Or Vitali before he beat Arreola, he was 10 yrs older than him. I'm pretty sure there are a heap of other boxers that were more then five years older than their opponents and still beat them with ease.

Age is without a doubt the biggest factor, though Mosley has made a remarkable comeback recently, he is still 38, and that can sneek up fast. His last oppenents didn't have nearly the speed that Floyd possess, so his reaction timing is a big question mark. It's too bad this fight couldn't have taken place at 135 back in 99'.

Bravo, when a FLoydette looks up numbers, everything is even if it makes their idol shine brighter. Sure 39 is equal to 33. When JMM was asked to go up 2 divisions higher, so what as long as he is the "pound for pound number 2". Absolute figures are for debate now?
I get the whole age thing, but a lot of people said the same thing when Shane was up against Margarito. Shane was too old and Margarito was heavily favored. I know Margarito aint no Mayweather, and believe Mayweather will win by decision. I was just shocked at how heavily favored Mayweather was at some sites (I expected it to be a little closer since many believe this will be Mayweather's toughest fight in a long time). Either way, most sites have tightened up the gap. Mayweather is still favored, but they've lowered the payout if Mosley pulls off the upset.
