    Benton is a great call.

Not as good, but i've always liked Jean-claude Bouttier.Like most of the top Euro fighters of that '60s/70s period he was a real neat and tidy technical fighter despite lacking notable physical gifts. His effort against Monzon in their rematch was awesome and showed incredible toughness. When he realised he wasn't going to outbox Monzon with his usual style, instead of just going through the motions, or choking he just turns aggressive slugger and counterpuncher, shows Carlos no respect at all and gives a supreme effort.

It was all for nothing in the end, but it was the kind of performance that a lot of the recent lacklustre middleweight champions and contenders haven't remotely approached.

From my era Eusebio Pedroza is a bit underrated as well. Falls into Sanchez's shadow. It didn't help that he was dirty and disliked and had some tough fights, but his opposition was excellent. When i think about it there was a very decent array of contenders getting about.

Mamby is underrated. Nothing amazing but far better than his milage.

Of course we need to look back down the ages for the true answer, there's dozens of hidden gems.

Mark Johnson he doesnt get mentioned near enough as he should. HTH i cant think of a flyweight in history that would have beat him, he was still awesome at JB too. He was on my PFP list for a while when he was fighting in my top 5 for quite a while, and this was back when we had prime Jones,ODLH,Tito, Etc etc fighting.

Kevin Kelly was a good fighter but not on Too sharps level. IMO Kelly is not a HOF type of fighter, where as Mark Johnson should be a first ballot HOF, If they were the same weight in their primes id pick Johnson to handle him, maybe even dominate him and ko him early.

Another guy i forgot about was Zack Padilla.
