Andre Ward, must be the master negotiator, I can't see why he should have all his fights in his backyard, and refuse to fight abroad, dumb.
the super six was (partly) made to make a massive star of Ward by showtime, he'll be on a long-term contract with them and no chance he'll fight away from the US. i hope one of the europeans can burst this bubble. thing is, no matter who does well - showtime will have them in the future. ward is very good though
I dont know about that, i know it seems that way now, but it seemed like a 50/50 thing for me, The Sauerlands went in thinking their 2 fighters would be getting to the final, and the americans gambled on youth, and The americans seem to have come out ahead thus far. Ward could lose to Green (yea i know, unlikely, but funnier things have happend) and then struggle with Dirrels style and all of a sudden find himself out of a tournament, as we've seen so far, anybody could lose when there's that many good fighters fighting each other.
What would be the advantage of the fight being in Manchester rather than Nottingham, where Froch's fanbase is?
Fat Mick has done extremely well guiding Froch from fight to fight but he has done very badly in getting Froch the exposure in England/the UK that he should have. He has picked the right fight against the right fighter at the right time masterfully and then he got Froch into the super six+1 tournament too. But surely, Froch should be a mainstream attraction on TV in his own country given his all-action, never-say-die style.
Bad times? Top fighters having to take they're titles on the road and defend against the best, good times I say and its what makes this tourney great. I'm sure Froch would love to be an enteretaining version of Sven Ottke and get some more Dirrel type results at Nottingham arena but thank fook it aint happening. Your right though Mick needs to do one
if the boxer is happy to take the good money im sure he would have received in Denmark to take this fight i dont see what complaints anyone can have now carl's been beat,im sure it was a calculated gamble that never worked! won't be the last will it?
If Froch is making a huge issue then this would be the first ***** in his mental armour. He is telling himself he lost a hometown decision. He said that when the cards vs Taylor were wide. The truth is both cards were relatively accurate but being a boxer he needs an excuse. It would be nice if he said he's technically poor and worked on that.
If Froch was promoted by Warren he would be fighting the likes of Miguel Espinosa in for the WBO strap and nowhere near the super 6.
at least mick not afraid to stick his men in deep lets be honest if your with warren or maloney and your glass jawed , punchless, and without ability your garranteed a long undefeated record against romanions a lot smaller and who have the odd win in there own gym,the system has let micks boxer down not himself, the full job needs a shakeup while theres still something left to shake,.
Where's the actual proof of this? All the evidence suggests that a fighter is far better off with Warren than Hennessy.
Oh its tough crunch time for Mick though IF Froch falls out of the tournament Mick loses his cash flow and with no television where does that leave him or his stable? I have to say though i think he has probably made a few mil of off his ITV deal and the Super 6.
It might be too late for Froch now anyway. He isn't a star but what more can he do than what he's done already? Terrible promotion.
yes you are right a boxer is far better of with warren, as he won,t get put near anybody in his caliber untill he,s in a big fight,it may make good bussiness sense but who outside of there own relatives want to watch it, he,s in warrens corner against an absolute lemon 'had 20 fights butin reality the last 2 would be the only you could call competative, and they probably have a chest full of amateur medals as well.:-(
