Bute will soon be able to fight the super six losers. Green and Dirrell (if he loses against Ward) or Froch (if he loses to Abraham and Dirrell wins against Ward). Dirrell or Froch would be pretty good. Dirrell-Ward is already scheduled for the end of September. Bute has to find good opponents since early 2011. A unification would be nice, Hopkins, Pavlik, Dawson too. He will also has to face his mandatory (Brinkley-Bika), unless he decides after unification to drop the IBF belt to keep the WBO one.
Beating losers will do little for Bute's legacy. He needs to fight winners like Dawson or Hopkins or at worst, the losers of the semifinals and final, but not the losers who get kicked out after the first three rounds of the Showtime tourney.
Dirrell may very well be on the outside after the first round but he's one of the top 2 guys in the tourney. So it would be a great fight for Bute. Of course, Dirrell may beat Ward and advance.
When you beat losers in greater fashion, you're in a good position while waiting for the winner. Dirrell and Froch are not bad opposition, even if one of them is kicked out of the tourney. However, I'd like to see Bute-Dawson too. I want them all!
Looks like it will be a unification against Stieglitz or a title defense against Demers. Lets hope Stieglitz takes the fight.
Oh my god! Demers... Would it be legal? I mean, he has absolutely 0 chancs, not even the good old puncher's chance. :tired Come on Stieglitz promoters, let your man take a real challenge. Please.
