i had the fight 115-113 overall to kessler. That was scoring it live, and i haven't watched it back, or been online since the fight. I felt generally that the first 2 rounds, kessler took them, then froch started working off his jab and superior reach, and was setting kessler up nicely. This would have been the game plan to win for froch. In a fight as close as it was you can't complain that kessler won. The only reason froch should feel agrieved is that he didn't do enough in the fight to win. He wasn't active enough, and never capitalised on kessler being hurt in round 5 or six i think.
Froch can come back from this, and a re-match would be great.
But i didn't scream digust when kessler won, as on balance i thought it was a fair outcome.
    117-111 WAS bollocks though

close fight, but kessler won,he fought, froch dident.
only himself to blame.this may be good for him,may make him fight with a bit more authority in the future

Kessler won it pretty clearly. I scored it 116-112. It was a competetive fight, but Froch didn't win, no way.

On saturday I scored the fight 115-113 Kessler...I rewatched it yesterday and I scored it a draw. Its always the case that when you rewatch a fight the scores tighten up.

i also plan to watch it again. I do remember thinking around round 4, well done carl, you are getting yourself back into this. But what annoyed me with froch was prior to the fight he said something like he hoped kessler wanted to fight, as he would return fire etc, similar to the pascal fight.
But i think carl went into his shell a little bit when kessler fought back, and then halfway through an exchange he suddenly seemed to realise that he needed to fight back, which was then too late as kessler had appeared to do most of the work.
I hope carl learns from this, but again, although i might score it different watching it back, my gut insticnt on the night was the froch had blown it, and kessler had won.
I like both, but had an obvious sway for froch with him being an englander and stuff.

    That's a bit harsh...

I had Kessler win by 1 round and it could have gone close either way. It was a good competitive fight and both guys come out with credit. The 117-111 score was a complete and utter joke...

Somewhat mystified that people think it was a close fight and that some even had Froch winning!?!

Froch had his moments with his jab and good countering but Kessler outworked him, pushed him onto his back foot and hurt him to the body. He also seemed to want it more.
A very competitive fight and possibly foty candidate but I think Kessler was the clear winner.

Both fighters had their moments it was close i think Kessler won closely tbh but a Froch decision can also be argued for. I think the fact it was a UD rather than an SD or MD has probably frustrated some people it was probably more deserving of an SD verdict. Even if the Froch Taylor fight had gone to the scorecards it would have been an SD.

If you score the fight with bias to Froch you can get a minor Froch decision. If you do so with bias to Kessler however you can get a fairly wider decision i think that say it all really

I think the issue for many people is they don't score body shots with the same prominence as head shots. To me, body work is more impressive because it shows a control of tactics and planning for the later rounds of the fight.

Thats the wrong way of looking at it mate. The judges score the fight individually, they don't get toether decide whether its a UD, SD or a MD. One judge isn't going to score for Froch just to make it a SD.

If you have a problem with the numbers on the individual cards, say the 117-111 or even if you thought Froch won then fair enough but you shouldn't complain it should be a SD when all 3 judges pick the right winner in a close fight.

Ye i understand how the scoring is done they dotn all get together at the end and go i reckon we should give this as an SD just to be nice yano? But i thought it would not have been unlikely or out of the realms of possibility for a judge to have scored it for Froch thats all. Im saying that in such a close fight 117-111 is obviously a wrong scorecard. A draw or a round in favour of froch IN THE EYES OF THE FANS would have made it seem more fair/closer. With the UD fans/ Forch have nowhere to go other than Kessler just was better which doesnt really give Froch credit, i think if they fought a few times the results would still be fairly even a rematch would still be a fairly pickem

Have to say Kessler won the fight, and it was no robbery, but Froch was to blame, for whatever reason. Around the 5th I believe it did appear he had Kesslers number, and he seemed to be enjoying himself out there in the ring, but didnt really push down on the accelerator. Couple of rounds he also looked fully in control jabbing away but then just let Kessler walk right back into it. Cant fault his heart tho, neither of em, bought fought like warriors.
