I love how every close fight in Germany is automatically a robbery.

But sad on the other hand... Hadn't seen the Krasniqi fight before.

Yesterday I saw a heavyweight bout on Eurosport with another 'classic' from a referee... Some guy named something like 'Courage Shabahla' or something knocked his opponent down at the and of the third round, and the ref wanted to wave him off (at 10) and then probably remembered he put money on that guy or something and told the timekeeper to ring the bell for the end of the round. In the next round the guy who should have lost already knocked down the other and he got waved off when he came up at 10! :nut

Also, you gotta love the ESB geographical knowledge... so a Turkish promoter presses the ring bell in a Kazakh-British match-up in a Spanish officiated fight in Spain, and that counts for German judgement... :rofl

Although unfortunatley so does the TS.

A fight being in Germany hardly garauntees controvery , but you must admit there have been some shockers and probably more than your fair share.

 

Some more for the list

* Beyer - Bika ... Bika was DQd for an "intentional" headbutt after giving Beyer much trouble. It was the easy way out for Beyer. Bika got screwed.
* Ottke - Mundine .. Mundine knocked down Ottke, clearly caused by a punch. But it was ruled a slip.

 

maybe but what part of any of those clips was a "close fight"? there's shitty judging (montreal i'm looking at you) then there's refs clearly helping out the local fighter. these aren't scores that are called robberies, these are foreign fighters having to fight two men in the ring: their opponent and the ref.

Yeah, and like another poster pointed out at least one fight didn´t even involve anything German.

And sorry but the US and the UK isn´t any better. Just look at super six. The only country where there wasn´t some controversy is ... Germany. Funny, eh? It´s the same everywhere. Some are better in covering it up though.

 

scoring absolutely but give me an example of another country where the referee helps the opponent up, the promoter rings the time keeper bell (THE PROMOTER ffs!) or someone is threatened with a DQ for punching his opponent?

I agree with you about contoversial decisions and actions in other parts of the world, but you can't deny the redicolous actions by referees in Germany. Seriously, I'm Dutch so most boxing I can watch is from Germany and the UK. I don't want sh*t like this, and I can't imagine you want it either.

 

The second one didn't involve a German and wasn't in Germany. And, the first, I watched the fight, my belief is that the referee didn't actually know that a punch landed and thought Hernandes had slipped. Until he saw how dazed Hernandes was. Not everything that happens has to be a conspiracy, you know.
