im goin to visit a mate of mine in brooklyn soon and im planning to get some 1 on 1 training in gleasons, anyone suggest any good trainers?
preferably someone who can teach a 'tyson-esque' style effectivly, and yes i know everyone wants that style, but it works for me, my trainers have no problem with it.

but yeah, anyone got any good experiences to share?

Gleasons has A LOT of great trainers. I am sure that they are all familiar with the way Tyson was trained. Any one of them can teach you this style, however I think that they will also do an assessment of you first to train you in a way most advantageous to your various skills and body proportions. Go to http://www.gleasonsgym.net/ and check out the trainers and their bios. I have watched many of them training clients (ranging from amateurs, white collar workers to pro's) and they all seem to be attentive and knowledgable. I love training there.

Talk to one of the trainers. They will have to know what type of experience you have, your condition and such before they know who to match you with.

gleasons gym is overrated only go when u want to get into hard sparring. Alot of the trainers take ur money and dont teach you ****, you have to be very careful there.

thanks for the advice man, yeah, i want some tough sparring but mostly to learn more advanced technique.
i dont want to be spending my money and have a trainer burn up time makin me do shitty crunches.

but the thing is, im only there for a month and a half, so having a personal trainer is ideal,
just tryna to decipher which ones are worth the cash

i sent an email to bruce silverglade , just a about a few things involving training there, 1 of them was about picking trainers .
he said Pedro Saiz or Harry Keitt would be good trainers for me.

    anyone trained with them?

I haven't trained WITH them. A couple of times Pedro has watched me and offered some tips but I have seen them training their clients. Both trainers are great and handle pro fighters. You should go in and have a chat with each guy, tell them what you are looking for in the time you will be training at Gleasons and go with the guy your gut feels best about. They will talk with you no problem. Good suggestions from Bruce.

Well Harry Keith is John Duddy's trainer, can't comment on how good he is but to be working with fighters of that level you'd expect some quality.
