Eubank: Calzaghe hit like he had bricks in his gloves

Discussion in 'World Boxing Forum' started by onourway, Apr 26, 2010.

  1. He sure knocked the **** out of Byron Mitchell... and that was just a couple fights before Lacy. He actually stood there and traded heavy blows in the middle of the ring with Mitchell and was put on his ass... and still came back trading.

    Also I'm American, just FYI.

later in his career was when he had his defining fights. if you said to me would he of beaten the version of jones, hopkins and lacy that he fought a few years prior, i would of said yes. hopkins tired tremendously for their fight, wihch is one of the main reasons i believe calzaghe beat him. lazy was always hype, and calzaghe probably would of stopped lacy a few years prior and the same goes to the version of jones that he fought.

calzaghe has always been a smart fighter, and found ways to win, it's just he didn't normally have to dig deep in his fights, but when he had to, he normally did.

he's undefeated, but to me the biggest shame is calzahge's resume. i feel his resume should of been a lot better. certain fights didn't happen when they should of done for certain reasons, and he should of just went to america and demanded those fights by putting top performances in. calzaghe's fault.

a few fighters have commented on calzaghe's power. their opinion on his power means more than all the posters on here put together.

why put power behing your punch is you know you can win without having to load up on every shot.

all he had to do was to mix in a heavy shot once in a while and his opponant would not walk him down as he did not know when the next one was going to come.

If he could not swing someone whould have walked him down.

    +1.

I find it funny whenever a boxer comments about another boxer and some keyboard warrior blatantly ignores it and gives us his opinion like its gospel.

Hmm, who to believe? Respected fighter who was actually hit by fighter in question for twelve rounds, or renowned internet spastic?

True, but it doesn't really mean he punches hard. He could be landing hundreds of 'slappy' shots and the ref stops because he's out-working his opponent. Only in his very early career did he properly KO people.

I saw Byron Mitchell take a fiercesome shot from Calzaghe with the camera near the ringpost and even heard the thud as it knocked him all over the place, then Lacy that arrogant ***** who took his medicine, got a beating.Calzaghe if anything could throw very hard swooping left hands, the guy could punch hard.So he wasn`t always a slapper.

The only way you can answer something like that is, either you are one his former opponents? or he once kicked your ass outside the ring? Otherwise you dont know **** about how hard he can hit!
