I was just told by a reliable source that HBO executives "hand picked" Adamek for Arreola, with the hopes that Adamek would go down in flames. Why would they want to see that happen & attempt to revive Arreola career after the thrashing he took from Vitali? Makes no sense to me. :think
Its a little easier to fill stadiums in the US with Mexicans rather than Polish folks... maybe as simple as that.
I dont know if HBO picked the judges, but the scores 114-114 and 115-113 were awful. I had it 117-112 and was trying to be objecitve. Most ESB users have it 117-111 or 116-112. Even a lot of Haye fans got it 117-111.
Compared to Arreola? Maybe. But Adamek has no chances against K2, Haye, Chagaev and Chambers. 1-2 fights - and he'll be over.
Why do you think so? They are similar size, different styles, but arent untouchable. Whats more they are beatable. I dont understand why you disrespect Adamek so much.
The did not fill out the arena at Chris backyard, while all fights in Newark were filled out in full by Adamek's fans. I think HBO need some hyped inside fighter, whoever that is. Adamek is more an outhesider from Europe, and most Americans (except poles) don't identify with him as the 'home' fighter. So Adamek is not a good draw for huge number of ppv buys.
That is a load of bollocks to be honest, Tomasz much like Arreola, appeals to a large public, its been known for quite some time that Tomasz has the ability to box and outbox the likes of Cristobal. The odds makers figured Tomasz was the favorite going in, you gotta think HBO knew the same.
Its not about the ability to box and outbox ... at HW the average Joe need to see the pure power with ability to knock down and knock out the pure skills are less important in this weight class.
Adamek fought brilliantly this Saturday, but he has little to no power as a heavy and will be thrashed by either Klitschko.
