Manny Pacquiao and Floyd Mayweather are IMO at least a league above Mosley, Williams, Cotto, Clottey, Cintron, Bradley, Alexander, Maidana, Margarito... etc

Some more than others i know. however Mayweather and Pacquiao are the most hated two boxers on this forum apart from Carl Froch.

Isnt it about time we enjoy these modern day greats cos in 5 years we will wish we had rather than be bitching about the both of them. we are lucky to have 2 p4p of all time boxers in the top 25 IMO.

relax and soon they will fight in the biggest fight of the century.

It depends on the outcome on Saturday.

If Mayweather loses, then I am sure that many threads will sprout about how overrated he is.

You are only as good as your last fight.

Mayweather is a league above most the rest, and a class above Pacquiao.

Skill wise, I'll agree. As a whole fighter including power, stamina, chin, etc, they're on par.

As a whole fighter, you have to include everything. Pac is a hell of a fighter, but he's not quite on the level of a Floyd Mayweather.

Yes, I was including skill in there as well. Pac is inferior in that area, but other intangibles cover for that.

In terms of technique, I say yes. In terms of power. Pacquiao is clearly better.

Here's why, in the lower weight class Pacquiao(when he was younger (122lber)) he KOs almost everyone that he fought. Even now after moving from 130, he stopped 4 out of his 5 opponents (KO'd 2 and TKO'd 1, RTD 1, and 1 UD). Mayweather on the other hand after moving from 130 stopped 5 out of his 13 opponents. It's clear that Mayweather's punching power dropped after jumping weight. Pacquiao in my opinion has gotten stronger because he doesn't have to drain himself anymore to make weight.

I can't really compare Mayweather's chin/body and Pacquiao's chin/body. Pacquiao's chin/body is solid. (Yea yea, Pacquiao was KO'd via body shots before when he was a

I was about to make a post about this, you said it absolutely perfect ! Boxing is the only individual sport where the fans hate on there most talented athletes, we should respect every fighter for what they bring to the table.

Well Floyd's endurance never really needs to be tested because of that. However, the disparity between output levels may make a difference decision-wise.

Pacquiao seems phenomenal and most sincerely, yes, above the rest. But Floyd Mayweather, even tho he is undefeated, is far from impressive and thusly is not that much better than the other welterweights. Happens that it is very difficult to break Floyd Mayweather's defensive riddle and in between, he scores enough to win fights. Let's not compare Floyd's effective punching and ring generalship with Pacquiao's agressiveness, punching volume and commitment to fight. Seems to me that someone wants to write Shane off b4 that fight take place. Would you say that Floyd is a "league" above Shane if he fights his usual fight and steal it by a narrow margin? You gat to be a Floyd fan to believe in that crap.

This is a very nice post that is pretty much irrelevant to what I wrote. I say that Mayweather is a better fighter than Pac, and you respond by saying Pac has better power. Amazing. It's also laughable that you say Mayweather's endurance is untested. Seriously, think about that remark and come back and tell me it makes sense.
