Go outside the US, and you'll see that it's also global.

Boxing is still the king, though.

The UFC fighters are made up of many college educated and even graduates who wrestled while in school. The demographics that you spoke of include as its majority of white employed males, 18 years to 45 and who have an income higher than the national average. That is why sponsors and advertisers throw money at UFC related endeavors. Compare that to boxing (a sport that I love) which terribly misses the mark of capturing the vast American sports audience. Boxing DOES NOT appeal to everyone AND the UFC has overtaken boxing in the U.S. a while ago.

I never said there wasn't skill involved....I said it appears to be simple brute force to win fights when you watch it live or on tv....You can masquerade it as bjj, muay-thai or what have you.... but it still looks like a street fight at the end of the day...

As far as pay, they get paid **** compared to boxing and other sports....thanks to ass clowns like dana white...

 

Plenty of the fans are idiots but that doesn't change anything. It will continue to get bigger but boxing is doing just fine. I'm not worried about it. At the end of the day a good matchup in boxing is just more exciting becuase the fighters stay on their feet and trade. Where boxing is losing is the fact that typically speaking $50 is going to get you better fights for MMA. Boxing's undercards just don't compare. Boxing has far superior natural athletes still, and I think that will be the case for quite some time.

I'll watch it once in a while, its fighting.
