    Good god this is ******ed.

White has many times said that he respects boxing and boxers.

When he criticises the sport - It's utterly legitimate stuff that we all **** and moan about at other times.

And guess what - By following a model - a BUSINESS and OPERATIONAL model that is more controlled in all area's from branding and marketing through to administrative sides of the sport - He's created a sport that is killing boxing as a product.

Boxing and MMA are still subject to having bad fights as a result of styles etc, but as far as creating a unified and cohesive sport - White has done more to regulate and improve the sport and the brand in 10 years or so since Zuffa took over than boxing has since day dot.

    Jealousy is a curse.

I WISH we had someone like Dana White involved in boxing to sort out the plethora of issues that make it hard for our sport to grow and flourish.

The boxing/UFC rivalry has always been kind of stupid to me.

The UFC has its fair share of celebrity fans aswell.Quite a few rock stars and rappers like DMX follow the sport.Mike Tysons actually attended a UFC event and has alot of respect for the sport as does Lennox Lewis,David Haye, Roy Jones.Shaq Oneil is a big time fan whos actually open to competing. Many NFL players like Patrick Willis,Brian Cushing,Demarco Ryans,Jared Allen,Chad Johnson train in the sport and its possible guys like this will cross over once their playing careers are over. The sport has alot of crossover appeal.

I think the boxing fan's utter dislike of MMA is mostly from the western countries.

Fight fans in asia love both sports (although I admit it became kinda less exciting for me, during the first years of the ground and pound era) and we support and respect both types of athletes.

Probably because we are exposed to more kinds of fighting systems (Judo, Karate, taekwondo, boxing, kali, etc.)
