Why shouldn't Floyd think he's better than Ali and SRR?

I want to start off by saying that I DON'T think Floyd is better than Ali or SRR, but I don't understand why you guys get so worked up about this. The guy should have confidence, and he should think he is better than everyone else. He's undefeated, has great defense, is rarely tested in the ring, and has fought some credible opponents.

This type of thing isn't uncommon in other sports as well. I bet when Albert Puljos goes up to the plate he doesn't think he can hit the pitcher he's facing, he KNOWS he can hit them, just like Floyd knows he can beat the fighter in front of him. The difference is he's just more humble about it. So look...is Floyd the best ever? No, of course not, but he is good, and until someone beats him, he SHOULD think he is the best fighter on the planet.

Hey all I'm saying is its good to have self confidence. Its healthy, especially in a sport like boxing, even if it may be somewhat delusional.

Aim high so when you fall short it's still far.

I don't think anyone can accomplish what Ali did, let alone Robinson. Not in this era.

The same could be said for Calzaghe, is he better than them too?

Is this thread a justification of all the shits he has been saying about he is better than SRR and Ali?

Sports is all about confidence. People who don't think so have never competed in their life. You have to think you're the best whether you are or not, but also never underestimate your opponent. Floyd does that.

The thread starter is not saying he is better than them. He is saying that it is healthy and obviously successful to have that winning mentality.

Exactly. Definitely not better than them, but if he thinks he is, and that helped him in the ring...good for him.

You never here Kobe or Lebron saying there better than Jordan, yet they still go out and do the unthinkable.

Being confident is not the same as being delusional.

That doesn't mean they don't think that to themselves though. Maybe they just realize if they publicly said that they could never win the argument with the media.

It's pretty obvious he doesn't think before he speaks, which is one of the reasons I take what he says very lightly. And it works perfect because Floyd's whole act is to be the villain.

You seem to be overlooking the part where he said PBF isn't better than SRR or Ali.

Psychology plays a big part in elite level sports so if Floyd believing he's the best of all time allows him to get in peak mental condition who am I to knock it?
