    Folks,

Cris Arreola is in-shape. He trains.. He would not be able to go 10 rds with V.K. or last all 12 rds with Tom Adamek if he was not in good condition...

Look, Cris Arreola is not genetically blessed with ripped muscles. He has that "Fat" gene present.. Hell, if he were not fighting, he'd be 300+ pounds and whaling from all angles...

If Cris Arreola lacks any one thing, its skills... He can punch.... We all know that, but he still lacks skills... He has the basics down, but he now needs to kick-it-up a notch.... If Arreola remains content like he is now since he is making good $$$ from HBO, he'll have a short-lived career.... As it is, due to his style, his career will prolly be short-lived......

STILL! Cris Arreola is good for ratings........:deal:bbb

He has a good workrate for someone his size. It's not hard to understand why he's be exposed after the Adamek fight. He's been somewhat one dimensional, and been shown up for what he really is. The amount of punches he walked into were ridiculous, he needs to really consider changing his style. Or at least learn how to get into puncher's range, without getting tagged so easily. He only fights one way and that's come forward, that won't work with the more mobile heavyweights. I wouldn't put that problem to his weight, but more to his predictable style....

He was fitter before, so he could do it, but he doesn't so he's open to criticism

Very true. The guy could come in at a 235 and he would still be a firm level below the elite.

Your thread title is a bit of an oxymoron.

There's no such thing as a fat guy in shape.

Arreola doesn't have a fat gene. THat's a bunch of bull****. He's a lazy guy that doesn't do roadwork and does skip rope...the two things that actually help fighters burn off the pounds.

Arreolas own trainer says he has to get down below 250, 240 and under is acceptable, that's his words, not mine.

The extra 10lbs is hurting the guys career.

This dude was thin as a rail in the amateurs, so what the hell happened?

A good jab would have helped him a lot more than losing an extra 10 pounds.

This guy doesn't have the fat gene, he was a light heavyweight as an amateur. He should have the body of a young George Foreman, not the rolls of an old George Foreman. Cris is a great personality, but he's not dedicated to the sport enough to give up his trips to the taco truck.

He only spars, trains the mitts and the heavybag.

Whatever, he's a pretty comfortable fighter in the ring, he can scrap but he will never get out and run, lift weights and do things necessary for heavyweights.

He's a passionate come forward type of fighter, talented but not dedicated enough to make it. He'll always lurk around and lose to the very top.
