Agree with you that many of the regional title fights are a joke, and it's not just the one organisation either.

Heath Ellis for example, has fought some guys for regional titles that, based on their recent form, had no right whatsoever to be fighting for titles (and I'm not pointing at Maxwell here - earlier fights).

So, why wasn't it a title defence?

See this excuse being used now to explain away why Mundine didn't rematch Geale because Khoder fell out with the IBO? It's absolute bull**** :deal

Khoder was perfectly happy for the IBO to be onboard when Mundine's fight against Medley was supposed to be for the IBO 154 strap and didn't throw a wobbly until only a week from the fight. That's when we saw him scrambling in a panic to make the fight for a WBA paper title Mundine won fighting Taylor.

So Jeff, did Khoder premeditate the whole thing and always intended to back out of it being an IBO 154 title fight, and only kept the IBO onside to help promote the fight?

Funny how Khoder's spat with the IBO apparently prevented Mundine rematching Geale after one of the closest fights in his career, huh? :hey

Never mind, I'm sure Flash will also ignore this post of mine, just putting some food for thought out there for those who are interested :yep

CHB I spoke to Brad Vocale the other day about guys fighting for regional titles who are never going anywhere. My thoughts have always been that anybody who fights for a regional title must of first won the Australian title. So many guys who cant win our national title are world rated because the are good table sellers. Leon.......can you let me know what Khoders answer is about not defending against Fallinga?

Honestly Leon I dont have it. Believe me we are not close. In Chocs last camp I reckon I shook his hand a few times at prayer and spoke maybe 20 words to him in the whole time I was there. Khoder does not go to the gym and did not come to Chocs at all. He does his thing and we do ours.

The problem seems to be in both corners of these regional title bouts.

The imports are often on long losing streaks or just plain not up to it, and yes, the Aussies are often 'underqualified' as well.

Hard to believe such distant relationships exist in the relatively small Mundine camp, Flash.

Communication & first-hand awareness are such key attributes to any successful organisation, and usually there's little to no cost involved, only benefits!

No I dont think it matters. Khoder and Choc talk daily so as long as they are both on the same page everything runs ok. Its business. I remember when I was with Don King our manager was his son Carl. Everybody wanted to kill him but they accepted him. Not that they had a choice.

Hey DEEP THROAT if you would have read my previous threads I cannot answer for Khoder as I have no contact with the man. Please read the part that says in camp for the last fight I would not of spoken 20 words to the guy. Then ask yourself would this be an intelligent question to ask.

Deep throat  We all know Khoder did exactly that but why did FOX and the IBO allow him to keep promoting the fight sanctioned as an IBO title?

    When did they do that?

Maybe it was just Main Event being too lazy to change their advertising.
