Tua vs Peter is an excellent crossroads fight for both guys and an exciting matchup between two big punchers that are hovering just below the radar at the moment and both looking for decent step up fights. That is the logical next step for both guys.

Like others have said, he has that tv deal he has to run out, which is fine... i understand what it is. but that doesnt somehow make the fight any better, it is what it is, and its meaningless outside of a stay busy fight, and EVEN THEN, its bad for a stay busy fight. He would be better off with a guy hes not probably going to knock out in the first 3 if the point is to stay busy, get some rounds in and all that.

I just hope Tua can actually do something once this tv deal is over, time is running out.

this is a joke fight. Barrett is shot to pieces and was neva that good anyway. Tua's last fights were better, this is a step backwards.

This TV contract is gonna hinder Tua's plans, i think. If it prevents him from getting good opponents for him to prepare for a title fight, it's not gonna help him. Time isn't on his side, he hasn't got the luxury for these types of fights anymore....

Barrett is certainly a step up from Cameron. Cameron is merely an AUssie fighter. Barrett used to be seen as a world class contender.

And I agree, Peter would be a great next step for Tua, if he thrashes Barrett like I suspect he will.

Tua vs Peter would be the best heavyweight non title fight in quite some time.

Tua is just padding his records and earning a little dough. He might believe he's too old to hack it agains the Klitschkos. A prime Tua probably wouldn't have been able to do much with either Klitschko.

What a **** fight to take for Tua. Just keeps surprising me with how low he's willing to go.

I'm expecting Tua to destroy Barrett. I just hope Two Gunz doesn't get hurt.

This would be the only logical explanation to fight this kind of opponent. Still, it is important he finishes this contract as fast as possible, as otherwise he will be too old to use his "freedom" afterwards. If he has to fight bums (and calling Barrett a bum at this point is only slight overstatement) he should at least do it on monthly basis like Briggs (who BTW got a titleshot based on those "achievements").

After all, it's not a championship fight with all those negotiations and preparations, I guess it is more like just making a phone call and making an order indicating proper place and date. Even Vitali was able to find half-decent opponent in no time when his negotiations with Valuev went broke and all other top fighters were either busy or no interested.

Maybe a good interim fight before stepping up?

That's a bit like saying that the Klit bros are Russian. Wrong.
Anyway this should be a 1 - 2 round blowout for Tua.
    Bye bye Barrett.
I like Tua - Peter or Arreola.
But he's gotta get rid of the MTV contract so maybe towards the end of the year.
