Say at a catchweight of 205lbs Dawson completely outclassed Adamek in the first fight Adamek fans say Adamek was weight-drained Who wins?
It's hard to say. I'd want to choose Dawson initially based off of what happened the first time around, but it's no guarantee how he'd handle moving up that much in weight whereas we already know how well Adamek's handled it. It'd have been a great fight to make before Adamek made the commitment to Heavyweight. I do think it'd have been significantly closer than the first fight based on the Cunningham fight, even if I still favored Dawson. Didn't Adamek not have his trainer for the Dawson fight, as well?
Fight isn't happening unless it happens at a catchweight around 190. I don't know if Adamek can drop that low.
Adamek would let his hands go more, but how much more I can't say. Maybe not enough, although I would give him the benefit of the doubt because he already lost to this guy. Tomek has had problems with waiting too much in the past. He seems to be getting better, but we won't know completely until he gets back in with another boxer. He let Cunningham survive at all sorts of points he should have been collapsing. He's a perfectionist at times. It's a bad habit.
At 205 lbs Adamek would KO Dawson. That's too heavy for Chad, at least right now. 190 lbs or so would be a good match (though that still may be a bit much for Chad). It would all come down to how well Dawson could stay away from Adamek. In the first match-up, Adamek was absurdly weight-drained. Still, Chad is faster and moves better. So, if he could stay out of harm's way he likely wins again. But Adamek would be on him from the word "Go," and with more energy than the first time if the bout took place at a higher weight.
For sure Adamek would not go down to 205, also what's the point of making catchweights in HW ? I don't like it so, I don't vote, possible Dawson's win tho.
What i remember Adamek was moving like a typical zombiee, but maybe it was just a part of hist brilliant strategy.
