Why are Ward and Dirrell rated so high?

Calzaghe rated by many as being overhyped and meraly a good fighter, he beats a pre faded kessler who many claim was overhyped, Ward beats a now faded Kessler with help of cuts and headbuts and many claim he is contender for top dog at 168?
Froch rated by many as a slow walking dinasour with 0 boxing skills, yet he loses close decision to kessler and wins close decision vs dirrell. Yet Dirrell even tho he lost is classed as contender to 168 crown?

Surely logic would state that Ward beat a faded fighter who won a close fight vs a dinasour who still managed to beat Dirrell

Dirrell is on steroids as is Ward, do the research and they have a lot of unanswered questions concerning them.

Dirrell probably lost to Froch as its the one time he wasn't on steroids.

Ward is a massive hype job.

    Tis the ESB way

Ward does look a real talent but I'll wait to see more before I call him the man , Dirrell too lost a super tight decision to a Froch who most underrate nd then boxed rings round Abraham who was also highly rated.

A percentage of the american posters on here just shoud louder than most so it can seem like Ward and Dirrell are being overrated but most sensible fans realise that the top echelon at 168 is packed with talent and as yet no-one has proven themselves head and shoulders above the rest.

Ward has the goods but Bute to me is still 1 in the division. Ward has the goods to win the tournament but then again so does everybody else. As far as the steroids go, possibily he did have contact with Conti and that is not a good way to keep your name intact. Plus Ward did use his head a lot but hey its boxing you do wat the ref lets you get away with. If the ref threatened to take a point Ward would stop using the head.

I think they are rated due to talent and what they can be. Bute has already racked up quite a bit of decisions over highly ranked guys.

I think Froch vs AA will help answer some questions about Dirrell atleat, WAs it just a bad day at the office for Dirrell or does AA turn out to be overhyped.

I think its just a reality of fighting the best comp over n over in short spans you gotta expect everybody to lose once. Plus stylistically Dirrel was not too good for Abraham where as froch was a better match up

    1. Ward beat Kessler more impressively than Calzaghe winning every round, Kessler was considered Joes best win. So this is an excellent win. Since Kessler came back to beat Froch it shows it to be an even better win
    2. Dirrell was robbed against Froch and hence is really undefeated against 2 top dogs

Dirrell wasn't robbed! I actually scored it for Dirrell but it wasn't robbery! Very hard to score close fight.. It's subjective.

Dirrell is a real talent though IMO. He boxes beautifully. Although I'm not keen on the guy.. He's a real drama queen.

Ward was on steroids, Joe was clean, Joe didn't head but the vision outta Kessler, Ward did, Kessler wasn't inactive against calzaghe, nor did he know how to lose, nor was there a blue print to beat him, these are all things Calzaghe changed.

With so many people saying Kessler would KO Froch, and he was too good for Froch it wouldn't be close, it actually shows Joe may have ruined Kessler, not my belief, but something that could be said, plus if Dirrell/Froch was a robbery, Froch/Kessler was too, so Froch is really undefeated.

Ward and Dirrell were underdogs in all of their fights so far in the tourney, and yet they have gone 2-1 with the 1 loss being debateable. Kessler and Abraham were the tourney favorites before this thing started. They both were beaten with relative ease by Ward and Dirrell. Why wouldn't you rate either guy pretty high at SMW? It's not like either of these guys are on many people's top 10 p4p list.

they are highly rated bc they dominated their fights against top guys. ward beat kessler better than Joe and Dirrell should be 2-0
