I still think the British hold some clout. very rarely is the British champion not the best domestically, unless the best has moved onto the world picture

Exactly. Belts mean **** all nowadays. It's all about competition. And there are few of our 'champs' who have beaten top-notch opposition (be it domestic, European or 'World' class fighters) for their respective titles.
Agree with the general sentiments on this one. I'm surprised nobody has brought Kell Brook's name into this..... Lonsdale outright despite never facing anyone remotely resembling a top quality fighter. The best British fighter in each division should hold the title - if they hold world honours, so be it.... the title stays inactive until said fighter loses at that level and is presented with a mandatory defence. Titles - whether world, regional or national are more valuable when they are contested less often by fewer people. Why else is the Olympic 100m title more important than the Grand Prix athletics circuit?
The most overrated fighter in Britain today. Got big kudos for sparking McIntyre, who has been stopped in the first a few times previously if I'm not wrong. Brook STILL pulls up with his chin in the air. Patient and fairly accurate, but can't see him having the power on the World scene that bailed Naz out so often.
I like him, but agree with everything you say. All his opponents have very low KO ratios - McIntyre is the biggest and he couldn't get rid of Kevin Anderson who was a sitting duck for 10 rounds in their first fight. Additionally they've all been sparked at some point.... most of them several times. Someone with a decent dig and capable of taking a shot would tell us much more about Brook. Even someone limited like Matthew Hatton.

The moral of the story is that just because you have thousands of hits on a forum it doesn't necessarily mean you have gained knowledge through your endeavours.
