Nishioka will know how to get off the ropes, unlike Terrazas, who didn't have a clue.

Bear in mind that Nishioka used to compete at bantam and Rendall has competed at feather before Rendall being a very large super bantam anyways the size/strength difference may be fairly wide if Rendall can catch him up against the ropes he can wear him down

 

To those who say Munroe should pressurise him; Nishioka can have a good tear up, when he throws his bombs Munroe will see he can't win it there either.

Just trying to keep the optimism up in this thread!!

 

I haven't watched the whole fight since I saw it live but I remember Jhonny winning the first(and flooring Nishioka) and Nishioka narrowly winning the 2nd.
The 3rd I think was close till Nishioka landed that big shot.

Now my memory of the fight may be somewhat hazy but the fact Nishioka could even compete with Jhonny Gonzalez technically spells terrible trouble for Munroe. Gonzalez would rule the 122 lb division if not for his fragility, and while people will think I'm being extreme I reckon he'd be a top 5 p4p fighter aswell. Gonzalez is an amazing fighter but he''s just so fragile to both body and head.

Munroe's chances of winning rely totally on being able to get Nishioka on the ropes and keep him there for long periods. I'm not sure Munroe is even going to be able to back him to the ropes nevermind keep him there !, the Japanese fighter's footwork will just be too good.

 

This kind of reasoning is always bull****. Didn't Sakio Bika say Kessler beats Joe easy after sparring Kessler? Don't get too excited.

 

As did Nathan King.

 

Nishioka just knocked the wits out of a very game and tough contender.

Munroe's a good lad, but Terazzas' opinion couldn't be further from the truth, IMO. This is shaping up to be a blowout in the other direction.

 

I will answer who I think will win this fight after the fight takes place.
