I have no sympathy. Pac won in blow out fashion and got labelled a drug cheat. If Floyd wins in blow out fashion, may he get everything he deserves. "Shot or old or both" is nothing compared to being branded a cheater.
The Pac haters did a MUCH better job by branding him a drug cheat. Old & shot? Boo ****ing hoo. Try labeling him as a cheater. See how he likes that.
are you joking they use the "he cheated the scales" bit every chance they get and how many xylo threads have there been?
:good:yep Dude I've been telling people this and even posted videos for proof ...didn't do a damn bit of good.... so now I just I just say hate on haters ..hate on.
Are you telling me he DIDN'T come in 2lbs overweight?!?! The difference here is fact v fiction. Floyd haters HAVE proof that he came in over weight. Pac haters have NO proof other than a beat down of Cotto. When Floyd beats down on Mosely, I hope he gets the same treatment.
Here's Ring Magazine editor, Dough Fischer's take on the matter; Mayweather will get more credit for beating Mosley than Cotto did because A) Mosleys stature is higher now than it was three years ago, B) Mayweather is undefeated and will have extended his unbeaten record to 41-0, and C) a lot of boxing writers just like to kiss Floyds narrow black ass. Somebody recently wrote that Sugar Ray Robinson would have struggled to win a narrow decision over Mayweather in an article published by THE RING. If people believe that before the Mosley fight, what do you think those same folks will say and write if he beats Mosley? Dougie went on to say that if Mayweather loses he will become a real fighter in his eyes, and that he will simply not be overrated if he wins. I don't quite get that logic, but whatever.
he will get credit of course but you have to remember it is FLOYD and no one else who puts himself in the "no lose situation". he complains about people saying his welterweight opponents are "too small" or "too old" but the fact of the matter is most of his recent opponents are too small or too old, or both.
He gets credit it if he wins so yes. As much credit as he would get beating a prim Mosley or if he fights and beats Pac, then no, not even close.
Exactly. Nothing changes after this fight unless Shane wins or Shane has some dominant rounds. Those I'm sure will fuel many posts. Floyd only wins in his pocketbook. I pick Floyd to win by at least four rounds. However, if Shane wins at this age and the fact we know he is clean, then not only would I start considering him an ATG, Shane would also leap to #1 P4P in my eyes. He's fought the tougher opponents by far of the top three---DLH, Vargas, Winky, Cotto, Margarito ... Shane doesn't duck tests nor fighters. The same can't be said for Pacquia or Mayweather.
It depends on the manner of how he wins. If he potshots the entire 12 rounds, it does not add anything except that he is good in the art of POTSHOTTING. However, if he dominates, really dominates Mosley like he did to Gatti or Corrales, then PROPS to him for making a fighter never been dominated like that. That's what separate the greatest from the wannabe greatest. We are not talking of a Marquez here (who he should have KOed).
