In my opinion Ward is a bit more polished/refined than Dirrell, also seems to be a bit more mature and professional. Obviously this is simply my perception but I don't think there is a huge difference in terms of "skill level" but I can see Ward having a significant mental edge. Either way I think it would be a great fight and I agree it's the fight to talk about in Super Six.
I understand the arguments regarding their technical tendancies and background, but both also showed a mean streak and the willingness to throw big shots when the time was right. I simply point to Kesslars face as evidence of that, as well as AA being dropped for first time in his career.
I agree that fundamental technical skills are close, although I feel that Ward is more polished and has a better ring IQ, but Dirrell is the better athlete with the longer reach and faster hands. But it's about overall skills, and I think intellect and gameplan fall in that category. I also agree that Ward does have a meanstreak and is mentally stronger than Dirrell. They're supposed to be "friends," but you know how that goes. I think Ward will go out there to whup his ass.
Good point...Dirrell does have the faster hands but IMO Ward is going to make up for it when he gets Dirrell's timing down...He showed he can be versatile on "in fighing" and "fighting from the outside".
I agree. I think Ward is a complete fighter. With his versatility, he reminds me of a bigger Bradley.
This is the fight im looking forward to the most just about, at least on par with AA/Froch (for completely opposite reasons lol, one a skillfest, the other a slugfest) These two young, primed champion level fighters duking it out in a clash of skillsets and talents rarely seen, it will be a chess match and i cant wait. Not sure who im taking to actually win this one although im slightly rooting for dirrell to win.
:good I see the resemblelence...Dont get me wrong...Dirrell is going to be a stud if he keeps on improving the way he has...The only thing that makes me lean toward Ward is Dirrell heart and will to overcome adversity and hardships...He didnt do that in the Froch fight IMO...He had the fight in the bag if he would have overcome the antics of Froch..that wasnt a good showing IMO...He did seem to gain a little heart in the AA fight, but he still has room to improve on that. I remember how he ran like a ***** in the Stevens fight but has come a long way since that fight!
I have to disagree there...I think its going to be a good fight...if you're into seeing how skilled fighters work their magic, then this is fight is far from a snoozefest.
it will be a draw in the most boring fight of the super six, and froch is out because of that, they are both friends, it will be like a hard sparring...
I hope Ward wins but i've got a horrible feeling Direll will do it and probably go on to win the super six .
For some, that is a snooze fest. atsch I'm surprised Dirrell is doing as well as he is in the poll.......
Ward will tangle him up late on and out-hustle him. Dirrell prospers in a clean fight and Ward will drag him into a untidy tussle. Be interesting to see, especially after seeing them support eachother in their previous bouts.
