Dirrell has 20 fights i think, Ward be 22 after 2nd round. Froch only has 27 fights so they not really that green in comparision.
Not sure if i agree with that, froch was never elite, abraham was given all he could handle by miranda in germany and kessler was already well beaten by calzaghe, all three had their fans who promoted them but i think the general consensus was that they were not top elite guys but they were the guys who held the belts at the moment and so were automatically put up there as the front runners with ward in particular as a hot outsider by a lot of people, but fair play to kessler, the fav and a belt holder coming to wards hometown in his first fight, you wouldnt get many to agree to that imo
Any proff on this steroid **** or are you talking out of your ass? Well nevermind I know the answer...
the funny thing behind this post is the whole hypocrisy behind it, before the ward/kessler fight nobody gave ward a punchers chance in hell against this guy. everyone was saying "kessler is too strong, kessler gave calzaghe a good run for his money, ward is too inexperienced, ward wouldnt be able to get passed his jab" etc etc. he was a huge underdog going against the then "# 1 SMW IN THE WORLD". come fight time and ward shows the world the huge gap there is between him and kessler in terms of talent. and now that ward silenced the critics and killed the kessler hype train, kessler has now become a "dinosaur" or a "faded fighter" according to this guy. man, gotta love ESB.
Kessler was regarded as #1 when Ward beat him, Ward wasn't expected to win. Dirrell has impressed a lot of people since his move up in class, including myself. The reason they are rated so high is because they are showing signs of being able to compete at World level consistently, they aren't just prospects anymore!
and a question to the thread starter, how do you call a fighter a dinosaur when he only had one loss on his record, went on to maintain his championship belt, and is in his early 30's?? my god, i mean yeah he had a long layoff but to call him a "dinosaur"?? are you aware that black and white aren't the only colors?
If anything they're both underrated. Before the Super 6 they both weren't given a snowballs' chance in hell. Now both look like either could win it especially Ward. If you can't see the talent in these two then you're two things. A hater or blind.
I'd like to rate them high I just have some reservations. Ward showed some great stuff in his first super six fight, but he also did some nasty foul ****. Whether Wards fouls led to his great overall performance is just impossible to say. We have to wait until Ward fights abroad and without his own refs. Dirrell just didn't fight much against Froch so it is hard to judge from that performance. Against Abraham he looked good for 10 rounds. Did Dirrell bail out because he was hit/KOed or because he was getting tired? We just don't know. Less fighters than Dirrell have looked good against AA until they were KOed. We need to see more of Ward and Dirrell to tell how good/bad they are.
You're such a goddamn ******..Keep you're bull**** in the lounge As to the question, the proof is in the resume...These guys are relatively young and inexperienced compared to their Super 6 competitors and yet they're making the other guys look like amateurs. Its should be clear to any boxing aficionado that Dirrel and Ward are a league or two above the other guys in terms of raw talent. If you think these two are overrated what those it say about the rest of more seasoned Super 6 combatants? I mean according to the so-called experts, Kessler was on another level compared to everyone else with Abraham close behind. Well, Ward destroyed that myth:yep
The American fighter would get the correct amount of credit for beating that group, just like Calzaghe is. People like to dog him, but most repsect his abilities as a fighter.
