Is Michalczewski the biggest name not on Roy Jones resume?

i wouldn't say we ignore it, we just like to avoid the topic at all costs

 

Roy jones was in soi many different division's through out his carreer there are loads of great fighters not on his resume: eubank, collins, benn, calzaghe(as a W), Michalczewski, but i still would of wanted to see roy compete more at heavy weight and then also have holyfield on the resume

 

Chris Eubank was a chatshow celebrity on English TV who dominated the London newspapers!

He was a massive name in Britain.

 

RJJ was a little before my time as a boxing fan, but this statement goes for all fighters.

A fighter is judged on results. No fighter who puts himself in the ring is a bum and you can only beat what is put infront of you. Its almost impossible to fight everybody - so why can we not just appreciate these guys who go in and do their job?

If we are perfectly honest - some are better than others and demand more money, if certain other fighters don't bring that - then why put thier life on the line for our benefit when other fights will? Its easy being a fan with a beer in hand shouting at the TV - or even better the internet, but as in every walk of life - things aren't as simple as A vs B

RJJ still gets **** as does Calzaghe, Mayweather etc but the fact is - they were there, we were not (vast majority)

roy jones was the man, and in time we ALL will look back at what a great career he had, middle weight champ all the way to heavy weight champ! WOW just WOW

 

Fight that SHOULD HAVE ****ing happened, but didn't.

 

His para-ventricular nucleus is below the belt, so I'm not sure that's fair.

 

Rico deserves a below the belt shot.

Well yeah DM was the MAN at LHW.

 

I would say Nigel Benn over DM.

Dm wanted no part of Jones. He was made several offers to fight and would only take a 50/50 in Germany.

Dm dropped belts to avoid fighters.

He was a good fighter, but after Hill didn't fight anyone while Jones cleaned out the division.

DM was a very good fighter, but RJ was great! No comparison. Hands down the best fight not happening in terms of RJ's career had to be against Joe Calzaghe at 168lbs. The other one very close behind that one was a Roy Jones vs. Steve Collins fight. Prime RJ beats prime JC by UD in the States and SD in Europe and probably might of gotten dropped by Collins, but still wins by UD. DM got beat by Julio Gonzales, there's no way in their primes Roy would lose to him.

The IBF title was a mess..in the end he missed out on fighting some shortlived titlist whose name escapes me.
That title was already on the verge of getting stripped before he even won it

The WBA stripped him for simply having the WBO belt along with it.

Roy was just as much to blame for that fight not happening...Americans just cant comprehend that fighters can make good money and be big draws outside of America.
DM and Roy fought several common opponants after the Hill fight...so if Roy was cleaning out the division with those names then DM was doing his part aswell.

Roy would have sliced him up at any rate.

 

Roy should've fought Tyson or Holyfield after he defeated Ruiz. Both fights would've been easy. Roy could've pot shotted his way to a unanimous decison over either one of them. However, he let Tarver bait him into a fight. Dumb management.
