I saw Phillips last fight and thought his biggest mistake was jumping into deep water to early. Had he given himself a couple of fights with lesser opposition he would of probably won his previous fight. I think he should do a lot better in this fight but he is not doing himself any favours. This fight wont be easy.
Aussie promoters must think Aussie fans drool over watching Holiday get bashed because he beat Fenech. That or they're like Angelo Hyder and think that every fighter who was a big name in 1997 is who everyone wants to see now.
Was at the last Holiday fight and spoke with Phil after the bout.. He was rooted. Said he just wanted to concentrate on his family and NOT fight again...Yep, a big test first up, but hey.. He wasn't trying to fool anyone, nor was he about to fool himself. His attitude was 'all or nothing' and he fought courageously for 11 rounds. Father time took it's toll.. That particular fight will have done him no favours either. Hate to see one of the nicest blokes in the game get damaged.. but it's his choice. How many rounds Brian???
Pretty poor card. You guys better think long and hard about putting holiday on this card. There is many better fighters that could get foxtel air time.
Holiday. Don't forget your prayer mats. I dunno why he came back. He is a popular & genuine bloke with a large following of friends in his community. I couldn't imagine what they feel when they see him struggling through a fight like he did in the last one:-(
Was keen to see how Phil Holiday would fare last time round, in his comeback fight - not so keen this time - fingers crossed it ends well!
Don't damn the whole card by the one fight! Shows a great insight to the local game this! McConville V Maley is an excellent fight for our National title. Wijangco V Mahony - well if you saw their first fight, you KNOW that this will be a barn burner! Shaick's supporters will get the atmos cracking and all in all should be a great night. Kanofski V Holiday is not that bad a match-up due to Kanofski's punching power or lack there of
