Still, all in all, for a vato with loose flesh dangling off his sides and lower back, he does have decent stamina and seemingly takes good shots rather well in return.... A total slob of a fighter who was grossly outta shape could not do what Arreola does in the ring..... Arreola shows more stamina and resilience than former chumps like "Buster Douglas, Greg Page, Tony Tubbs & Bonecrusher Smith" ever did....... Perhaps not as much skill as some of the above mentioned, but better courage and chin...... Cris Arreola has talent and ability, but I must agree he is lazy and too content in 2010...... Why is that? Well, the 3 million dollar payday from his TKO loss to V.K. and his nice HBO check for his massacre of Brian Minto to cap-off '09 have secured his future in life to a large degree..... A sizable bankroll often makes fighters not wanna crawl outta bed at 5 a.m. and head out to the road to jog 4 miles before the dawn each day..... WORD! MR.BILL
That scar tissue surrounding Arreola's mug is and will become more of a factor as he ages....... You can tell Arreola's mug has been punched raw on numerous occasions..... And his flat nose will require surgery after he fully retires from the ring.... MR.BILL
Isn't that obvious Adamek is an exceptional puncher coming from lower weight class ... so there is just a few others at HW who can punch like him. So isn't there possible that whoever Chris fight next will not be able to expose his one dimensionality as much and that changing style is not what Chris should really do?
atsch Did you even watch Foreman vs Moorer? First of all Foreman was 45 yrs old, furthermore he did not look good at all and had on shades after the fight as both his eyes were heavily swollen. Foreman was being badly outclassed in each and every round before he shattered Moorer's glass jaw. A young fit Foreman would have taken more out within 3, with out being dominated the way old man Foreman was. To this day I will never get why people think old man Foreman was as good as a peak Foreman.
The guy fought as a LH as an amatuer, there is no reason he should weigh 250. He may be able to go 12 rounds, but that doesnt mean he is the best he can be. 220 would be better for him. He would be faster and be able to work even more, which is a big part of his style being a pressure fighter.
The extra 10 pounds won't matter because it doesn't change his style or genetics. Arreola showed he is top 10 material against Adamek. I'd like to see him against Peter or Povetkin.
You are on drugs....outclassed...hardly. That fight was very even....and Foreman looked like a fat **** in his later career, even though he was in top shape. It is part of aging. You too in time will know.
atsch He was losing big, he won maybe 1 or 2 rounds but peak Foreman would've got Moorer within 3, FFS he lost to Tommy Morrison and looked bad against Saverese and Grimsley , all 3 (including Morrison) would've been lucky to see the 2nd round against a young Foreman.
Even if someone is in good enough condition to do (whatever), if they are fat like Arreola, they are not in their peak condition. It's not because of some mythical fat gene. People who are fat due to glandular problems are not fit enough to even try boxing. Arreola is not one of those people. The reason Arreola is fat is because he takes in more calories than he expends. It's the reason why most everyone is fat. Yes, some people have faster metabolisms and they don't get fat very easily. So while being slim is not an indicator of whether or not an athlete is at an optimum level, being fat is a definite indicator that they are not at 100%. Arreola is not realizing his full potential, because he is fat and has no discipline. His stamina would be better, his workrate better, and his speed better if he trained harder and ate properly.
If we listen to your BS and use it....then everyone who came out of Auswitch upon liberation was in world class shape.:huh
