    B side?

Gatti never was on PPV prior to that..

Judah never headlined a PPV prior..

Baldomir was never on PPV either, yet Mayweather was the B side for ALL 3?

Yet, also, if Gatti was such a draw, why wasn't Baldomir - Gatti a PPV for the WW championship?

I was merely stating that in boxing, you need draws on both sides for a PPV to be great.

Oscar against small / no names couldn't draw anything but "solid" numbers.

He never had a great PPV against a small name. Which has been the same for Floyd.

My mistake, I thought we were talking about PBF's first 3 big PPV fights and I was thinking, Gatti, DLH and Hatton.

And yes Gatti was the 'A" side of that fight!

Then why did Gatti never headline a PPV before or after?

And wait, so, Hatton and Marquez were the A side of those PPVs despite Hatton NEVER being on PPV previously, and Marquez only doing less than 200k against Casamayor a few days before the same holiday Floyd-marquez was near.

He wasn't a flop, but he wasn't huge like he is now. Even before, he regularly got 250k - 300k buys in PPVs for quite a while before Oscar.

Actually he was doing about 350 per the fights before Oscar.

The difference between 250 and 350 is huge.

 DLH had the benefit of being the A side right off the bat...what a stupid argument.

Meaning DLH did most of his numbers based on HIS drawing ability right from the start whereas Floyd did not.

Common sense is not your best quality is it:lol:

Oscar did worse numbers in his first 3 fights than Floyd did, both were the A side of all 3 events.

Floyd has learned playing the villain pays the bills. And he does it well. If you look at him early in his career, he was less brash and much more respectful. His sideshow act has become the main feature and most watch in hopes of seeing him lose. Many call Floyd dumb but we're the one who pays him to be like that.

If Richard Schaeffer and HBO are to be believed, Floyd's PPV average dolllars generated is the highest of anybody.

If I am not mistaken his first PPV bouts were against Gatti, Judah, and Baldomir.. each one of those did over 300,000 buys..

not nearly the numbers hes doing now.. but still respectable numbers. but to answer your question I think DLH was his launching bad into mega fights..

Oscar is the biggest ppv draw in boxing history so it shows when he help few fighters becomes either a mega draw or a real good draw the following later. Floyd before facing De la hoya had fought 3 ppv fights against 3 fighters that never been on ppv before facing Mayweather in which was over 300k.

Before facing De la hoya, Pacquiao fought Morales 3 times, Barrera rematch, Marquez rematch in which all were over 300k. And his last ppv fight before facing De la hoya, Pacquiao did 270k vs David Diaz. It's funny cause Mayweather last ppv fight before facing De la hoya did 325k vs Baldimor.
