Round 2

Bangoyan still coming in like a bull with his back straight, waist bent, and head down, trying to land rights to the body. Nishioka still timing his charges and stepping back and countering like a matador. Bangoyan throwing from very weird angles with both hands. Nishioka just waiting on him and not getting sucked into Bangoyan's fight. Bangoyan brings his right hand upstairs and lands a HUGE one on Nishioka's chin. He follows this up with a very nice combination. Nishioka was slowed down but does not appear badly hurt.

Very clear round for the challenger Bangoyan, I actually have him up 20-18

Round 3

Bangoyan coming out the aggressor but off-balance. Nishioka just pecking at him with jabs rather than exploiting Bangoyan's wildness. Bangoyan's pace relents a bit and Nishioka finds him a willing target for uppercuts to the body. Bangoyan defensive now, and Nishioka finding holes for his left hand high and low. Some very nice straight punches from the southpaw champion. Bangoyan tries his own uppercut down low but it strays a bit too low. The ref gives him a "keep 'em up" pantomime.

Nishioka round. Bangoyan up 29-28 on the all-important but unofficial IB card.

 

Very good fight. It ended sooner than I thought it would but I assumed he would have to come from behind and get a KO win. Montiel can really bang. He has his carrer back on track now.

 

Round 4

After a cautious opening from both, Nishioka begins to warm up his lead left hands and land a couple very cleanly. Bangoyan keeps pressing forward with jabs landing after getting Nishioka off rhythm with feints, and barely missing lead rights telegraphed from the hip. Bangoyan has a point taken (presumably for a low blow that I missed, since he got a warning already). Bangoyan gets yet another stern warning. Bangoyan lands a very nice 1-2 on Nishioka toward the round's end.

Extremely close round aside from the deduction...

Im not impressed with Nishoka, easy to outbox, but has a very good punch.

Gonzalez was outboxing him nicely until his chin shattered on him.

and now this nobody whom i never heard of is beating him to the punch.

Round 5

Bangoyan coming in straight-up, without the crouch. Nishioka lands a BOMB left hand and Bangoyan keeps coming. Nishioka drops him with another and Bangoyan appears OK to go despite having eaten major shots. Nishioka batters him around the ring and it's over.

Wow. The kid's a beast.
