If Pacman can handle Mosley's power then Pac would beat Mosley. Its the same vs Cotto, what made Cotto fight intriguing was the question of can Pacman's take Cotto's power or can Cotto handle Pacman's speed. Pacman beat Cotto to the punch every time and minimized Cotto's power there for beating him rather soundly and savagly. Since Cotto has no defense what so ever to fall back on.

Mosley doesn't have strong defense either. So Mosley is there to be hit and Pacman's so fast that he will be able to hit Mosley a lot. Pacman lacks strong defense as well though. So again the question is can Pacman handle Mosley's power, can Pacman land first.

As far as having a chin, and durability= toughness then I'd say Mosley would be one of the toughest.
As far as beating him...NO! Pac would A: Get no credit for beating an old man. and B: Be way to quick, young, and in his prime for Mosley. He'd pick him apart.

hatton was the champ and considered the best at 140.
cotto was champ and considered the best at 147.
clottey was considered a beast and no one including floyd wanted cotto, clottey, margo, or pw.

you have to give him credit for an amazing streak he is on, blasting everyone out like that.

i guess gatti, baldo, judah, jmm are better ww in your mind?

I'm not backpedalling at all, weighing in at an enforced limit of 145 pounds is not the natural behaviour of a welterweight (as I have already stated).

If you observed the weight that a welterweight weighs in at as a variable, what do you think the distribution would be? Something resembling a normal distribution perhaps, but around what mean?

The "qualifier" I used was actually quoting the post I was responding to. Sometimes it helps to read preceding posts in order to establish the context for the post you are reading.

Again, your verbal reasoning skills have betrayed you, if you re-read my post you will not actually see me make any excuse for Cotto nor will you see any statement from me that welterweight is exclusively 147 pounds.

There's nothing wrong about having Shane on anyone's resume. What people gripe about was having the Shane of today on one's resume when one could have had him five years ago.

Out of interest when would you have liked to have seen them fight?

Five years ago Shane was fighting David Estrada, off the back of back to back losses to Winky Wright at 154 while Floyd was actually still at 140, the fight would not have made sense at that point. Shane came back down to welterweight in 2007, by which time Floyd was linear champ at 147 and was preparing for the fight with Oscar. Floyd fought Hatton then 'retired'.

I don't really see at what point Floyd should have fought Shane, was there a time when this fight was possible?
