The Rhythm breakers. Guys that dont necessarily look like the most skills but have the knack to throw off a good boxers timing and have the ability to catch them with unorthodox punchers and stop their flow. I will name a few.

who are your favorite rhythm breaker and why

Harry Greb, speed, movement and timing, Harry knew how to break a fighters Rhythm and was possibly the best

Marciano, subtle defense, make you reach with the jab and counters with hard awkward counters from off rhythm, off beat angles.

Ken Norton, good jab followed by crab defense and fast roundhouse type punches, uppercuts and body work. His Jaw betrayed him but Ken had a solid rhythm breaking style

Vitali Klitschko, I know I will get some laughs here but Vitali is a rhythm breaker of a different type. He boxes from the outside throwing punches against a fighters Rhythm and from very weird angles, foot movement both left, and right and in and out with an odd assortment of punches

Fritzie Zivic Forget his dirtiness, Fritzie fought and beat some of the best stylists...Fritzie was a Rhythm breaker

These are a few from different era's there are a few GEMS out there. who are they

Oscar Bonavena would qualify,I think. That rugged awkward style of his.

Good call on Vitali & somehow I had forgotton that about him. He seldom is given credit for very much aside from being big. Funny how people will buy into potential instead though. But when you combine a rhythm beaker along with the ability to throw 60 punches per round and some top notch finishing skills, you end up with a pretty good fighter.

Hopkins, especially as he got older, comes to mind. Doesn't throw a lot of shots, but picks them well. Moves around the ring, picking the right time to strike, and also uses clinching (and dirty tactics) to mess up the rhythm of his opponents.

Mamby was a rhythm breaking spoiler, a late bloomer I remember how he broke down Dejesus and others

Spinks had that herky-Jerky style that was effective at Rhythm breaking and beating Holmes in his 1st fight as a heavyweight, impressive but he broke Larry's Rhythm

He also worked into a sometimes almost extraordinary rhythm of his own as a bout progressed.

He did and he showed it many times, the Rodrigo Valdez fight being one of note among others

for some reason i wanna say Lamotta but only for some of his fights. I've never seen the robinson fight but from what i read he won by basicaly throwing him off rhythm.

i dont really understand the rhythm breaking concept enough to call out fighters who were good at it but Lamotta's bob to slip the jab seems like it fits in here.
