Bute decision. But if its in Canada with that ref Froch better make sure he wedges himself to the ringpost if he almost concusses him.
other keyword is almost. froch almost got himself knocked out by jermain taylor. he also did get outboxed by him for 11 rounds. bute did the ass whopping against andrade, got out like a champ and won the fight. sketchy referee? yes. sketchy win? no. this one is touch to call. bute has done well with two come forward, pressuring, touch sons of bitches in andrade and miranda but they are a step below froch bute is a great counterpuncher but his stamina and chin are relatively unproven and while i think he could pull a counterpunching masterpiece ala toney-barkley, i can also see bute outboxing froch until the 6th where his physical strength and will wears bute down and he goes from the late knockout
This is why I don't think Bute would chance going the distance. Why risk it when you can time Froch coming in and end it on a bodyshot? I'm not suggesting it's easy, but it's less risky than going 12 against Froch.
oh absolutely. bute's chances hinge on how good of a punch froch can take and how bute reacts if he doesn't go down. i think you're right though: he should stand in the pocket, pound on froch early to the head and body and hope it pays dividends. if he doesn't put beef into his punches, froch will keep coming and there's a good chance he'll catch bute late
Bute will have a strategy and will implement it very well - he has all the right tools for it. He's working on his right hook and his jab is slowly improving too. In the end, he's always going to be a counter-punching boxer-puncher. He is moving his head better than Kessler and he backs up less too, whilst moving better and faster and finding better angles. Styles make fights and Bute has what it takes to stop Froch.
Key point IMO is that Bute doesn't back up in straight lines like Kessler does. When Froch throws the first punch of a combination, he is out balanced. If you back up in a straight line, you are in range for his second shot. If you move to the side, he's screwed.
Bute has shorter reach than froch and do not use straight punches as much as Kessler, so Froch could be a problem for Lucien.
Combinations? How many shining combinations did you see from Froch in the Kessler fight? :huh Froch is not a combination fighter anyway. Bute likes infighting and Froch will bully him there I think.
As the old saying goes; "it is better to be lucky than good". Froch's luck has run out after the Kessler fight. Froch is a typical Bar room Brawler an would easily be out classed by the ever improving Bute (also Ward, a second fight with Dirrell and will go to sleep against AA). Soon after his second loss (by brutal KO) at the hands of King Arthur froch will fade into obscurity (thank god and good riddance)!
Froch telegraphs his jab really bad. Watch him; he always rocks his arm back and forth before he throws. That **** won't fly against Bute.
