Yea Al Hamidi justifies what you want from a journeyman really awkward tough he certainly dont fall over every time hes hit. Records a who's who of good British fighters who couldnt stop him (other than other 'journeyman' Michael Gomez!) Tricky little bugger but Syrian so does he count??

Nathan King has some good fights in the last couple of years particularly his last 2

Lee Noble - his record doesnt reflect his ability - a decent boxer and very strong

 

Is that the guy that sells ice cream? And didnt he give John Murray a scare?

 

And beat Anthony Crolla over eight. He's got good skills, punches well in combination and has great head movement.

 

My two favorites are Al Hamidi and Anthony Hanna for differing reasons.

Hamidi can actually be competetive offensively, he's quite awkward and difficult to figure out.

Hanna has a very good defence, hence he's rarely been stopped so its a challenge to break him down.

Al Hamidi for me, always gives a tricky test to prospects, most times after the main event when most have gone home.

Saw him fight Stevie Bell after the Khan v Barrera card in an empty MEN, and I'm convinced he was robbed in that fight.

 

It's sad, but journeymen usually are. At one point it's like they almost get used to fighting just as rungs on the ladder, getting a small paycheck and not protesting against the decisions that regularly go against them.

 

But he got his moment against Crolla. The rematch was bull****, from what I recall. Down to six rounds to avoid Crolla's stamina issues and at fairly short notice for Hamidi.

 

thats very harsh he was a warrior in his day and his last fight was for the commonwealth title and took over 200 supporting fans to another country what journeyman does that.....yousef al midi dunno how ya spell his name and tom glover maybe lee swaby in the heavier divisions and peter mcdonagh but dunno if ya would class him as a journeyman
