Mosely would be too easy to hit for a technician like Marlon. Starling would continually stop Shane's offense with that stiff jab of his.
I think it would be a close ass fight either way. Starling's defense, and countering ability would give Shane trouble, but Starling would have trouble with Shane's handspeed and body attack. I think it would all come down to who wants it more.... and I'm almost positive that would be Mosley.
A lotta under age 35 year olds easily dismiss a talent like Marlon Starling. Truth is, Marlon Starling was the best out there at 147 pounds in the 80s besides the other dudes' like "Curry & McCrory." I love how Starling wasted a prime Mark Breland in 1987 and took apart Lloyd Honeyghan in 1989...... Marlon Starling also went 12 competitive but losing rds with the much bigger and peaked Michael Nunn at 160 in the spring of '90......... I think Marlon Starling could handle Shane Mosley.......... Sad thing is, the losses by decisions' to "Curry & Nunn" will forever haunt his rep and prolly keep him outta the IBHOF....... NOTE: Starling was winning against Tomaz Molinares back in 1988 when he was clocked after the bell by Molinares in rds 6 or 7.... MR.BILL
Starling! He had a granite chin so Mosley wouldn't hurt him. He was in great shape so he wouldn't wear out, and his D was ridiculous it would be an entertaining fight and Shane would be in it but I would go with Marlon by Dec win.
The only gripe I have with M.S. is he was TOO defensive minded at times..... He sometimes blocked and slipped more shots than he threw.... MR.BILL:deal
Your assessment of Marlon Starling is all wrong....he wasn't defensive, he was awkward and flat footed. He had a stiff jab, but nothing to back it up....nothing special except his name "magic man".:roll:
