He looks like Richie from Happy Days on Wayne Rooney's body.

Well he is pretty big and well built.

    Also packs a heavy punch.

Looking forward to seeing him again in the future.

No way man. Alvarez's fundamentals, hand speed, and power are too much for Smith, who can get sloppy.

Dude's 19 with 40 plus fights (he says 10 of his fights were official but they aren't on his ledger)

I like him, he's got a long way to go though. Good win anyway.

im in shock ... i didn“t see coming that Cotto rocked Canelo in the 1 ... almost **** my pants! .... but the kid recover so well ... i think the kid was so nervous about the USA debut ... the canelo i see today was a nervous and unconfident kid, and still put on a good fight and get the KO .... the next fight i know that he will do 100 times better

Saul Alvarez is one of the future champions. Guaranteed.

He is getting attention and just beat a well-known fighter and he is 19. He has +30 fights. This is the start of what will be a very long and successful career. HBO and Golden Boy know this and will manage him well.

Saul is mexican and looks like an american. Just like Oscar, but the opposite. I think Canelo is special.

Loved watching him fight. Not the fastest fighter. He is not "supremely athletic" like Lamps said but he is techincally very sound and seems to have a boxing mind far beyond his years.

He got hit with 2 or 3 clean shots by Cotto in the first and was hurt but he didn't panic. I wish he would have clinched but his poise by not chucking leather and trying to distance himself was nice. He ended the round and started to take over from there.

i disagree with that.. if he had a heavy punch he wouldve put cotto down.. and cotto is a lightweight that was able to take all his clean punches to the head and stay on his feet

    :hat

It's overreaching obviously but the man's athleticism is good for sure.
