As a hater myself, I just gotta say: Floyd did what he had to do. Mosley didn't look shot to me, in fact he was competitive early in the fight (I thought that was a knockdown there in the 2nd). Even though the HBO commentators kept saying Shane looked old, I didn't think so. He looked like the same Shane we've seen in his last couple fights. Floyd was just too fast for him, defense was too good, counters were too sharp. Mayweather systematically took away every weapon Shane had... My official props go out to Floyd "Money" Mayweather on a job well done and a fight well dominated. All that being said. ****ING BRING ON PACQUIAO NOW. :deal
P4P the best in the sport. I don't care what the Ring magazine says. Absolutely a phenominal job by Mayweather.
Not a hater but not a Floyd fan, but he definitely did the job tonight against a hall of fame level fighter.
I always thought he'd win a UD, but was hoping Shane could win. Having said that, I didn't ever really think he'd win it that comprehensively. It was an exceptional display. Props.
The reality of it is, of all Floyd's recent fights......that Ricky Hatton was giving PBF his best tussle until he was KO'd......:good
yup full props on the win... shane didn''t look old.. he just got too excited for hitting floyd.. some of his shots are wild... even floyd & bayless can get in those shots... :yep
Mosley looked faster tonight than he did in the Margarita fight. I think Shane would have hurt Manny tonight -- he was no Clottey by comparison. I can't begin to describe how amazing Mayweather is as a fighter. He's got the natural talent AND the intangibles. I've followed the man's career long before he became known to those casual boxing fans out there that only know his "selling the fight" persona. This is an ATG fighter we have on our hands. He is truly great. I tip my hat to Mosley for going out there and giving it his all. He's also a Hall of Fame fighter.
I am still not a Mayweather fan and I am still not high on him either, but as of right now I have nothing bad to say about him ever again as far as his ability in the ring. He made me a believer tonight and he gets my respect.
Floyd is p4p #1 again. He took on the top welterweight and the best pound for pound fighter not named Pacquiao and schooled him straight.
I would not go as far as saying he is da top P4P just yet. Pac resume from the time Floyd left to now is still way better than Floyd, but if he gets the P4P title after this bout I do not have a prob with that at all.
That fight changed Ricky's whole career. He was never the same after that. Coming in, he was undefeated and riding a wave of confidence. MANY people said he would beat Floyd. After he was ko'ed, the excuses came rolling in. But it was Floyd who broke the man's spirit.
To almost shut out Shane Mosley, fabulous. Now I really want to see him and Pac fight. Fight HAS TO BE MADE. This would be the biggest fight of the last 30 years.
