I disagree. Hatton and DLH, Mayweather already beat. Cotto had been blasted by Margarito and came off a weak performance, and Clottey didn't fight. Schooling Mosley and Marquez? More than enough for me to give him his mantle back. Pacquiao has done great, but his only win as amazing as this in the last 3 years was either Hatton or Cotto: One Mayweather beat 2 years prior, and the other, destroyed by the guy who got destroyed by the guy Mayweather just destroyed.
Well said. The Mosley from tonight beats probably anyone else in the Welterweight division, or at least goes in even money. Floyd wrecked him, and it was no fluke.
I'll be up front: Mosley is (still) my favorite fighter of the last 15 years. I wanted Floyd to lose. That being said, he is a phenomenal fighter. The kind that doesn't come around that often. I'm not sure I've seen a fighter that physically gifted be that technically sound since Ray Leonard. Unlike Ray, he is too smart to engage in stupid exchanges. Floyd is a smart fighter. Floyd is far and away the #1 P4P fighter. Pacquiao is a distant #2 and there is only ONE reason that Pacquiao wouldn't agree to blood tests... Nothing but props to Floyd. Shane will always get props for being a warrior. Just had to get that in there
I disagree. Pac has been on a tear in the WW division since he got there. Mayweather has not in the 4 sumthin yrs he has been there. I can't agree with you. I am not trying to argue on a great performance by Floyd but unless he beats Pac I still put Pac slightly ahead of him P4P by maybe a hair cuz he has been active and literally destroying any and everyone he has faced lately. Floyd destroyed Shane don't get me wrong but in order to be the man you have to beat the man, and Floyd is not the man just yet but he has closed the gap quite a bit.
You really cant say shane was shot because a shot fighter would not hae made mayweather miss with his pull counter and leaping left as much as shane did
He fought a complete fight....defense, offense, angles, speed, ring generalship....what could you not like?
Exactly. Past his prime? Yes. Shot? Far from it. Floyd dominated, at worst, a very, very good welterweight champion.
He looked really good and completely and soundly beat Mosley. I wanted to see Shane pull it off and put his dick in the dirt, I almost had a heart attack in the 2nd, but I knew Floyd would UD him. I still dont know who I dislike more though, Floyd or his fans.
Yeah, I don't like the guy much, but he's an amazing boxer and was looking as good as ever tonight in the ring. I have a lot of respect for his skills and the training he puts into it.
