Okay..somebody else that wants to whine about the commentary here...I know i know but it just has to be done last nights was so awful.

Jim Watt pissed me off from start to finish. It's fair enough to be giving Mayweather a lot of praise, it was an excellent performance from an exceptional fighter. But PLEASE for ****s sake don't kiss his ass when either nothings happening or its fairly even going in a round. He even forgot it was the 2nd round when Mosley hurt him rather than the first he was so wrapped up in praising May.

 

I noticed this too early on in the fight, especially the first couple of rounds and was going to mention it last night, but didn't bother. It was ridiculous and blatantly slanted commentary.

 

Sky are atrocious. I'm grateful to get to watch the fight without PPV more than anything, but Jesus were they biased. Last night almost eclipsed Johnny Nelson's "Mayweather is the greatest fighter since SRL" after the Marquez fight.

 

He was also screaming that the fight should be stopped pretty prematurely too, IIRC.

I agree with you mate. Cutting back to the studio sound and making us miss the corner talk was really antagonising. I mean if a minor was watching the boxing at 4am, surely he could just flick over to babestation and see a pair of tits? Which right-minded adult who likes boxing is seriously going to be offended by a few cursewords.

Oh and if it makes you feel any better i had the same scorecard. Was an easy night for Watt.. even though at times he made it excruciatingly hard for me!

 

thats exactly what i was saying , watt pisses me off with that always saying how the corner men should retire the fighter wen hes really struggling its mosley ffs we know what he can do yes he was ****ed but u just never know in boxing.. he could of found that one punch late on.

 

I can't stand that mother****a. I used to defend his punk ass too, but his last two/three fights he's pissed me off. Last night he was real bad, but he did the same thing in the Marquez/May and Clottey/Pac fight . Now I'm a pac fan, but I found it annoying the way he just dismissed whatever Clottey did. Okay Pac's winning but if Clottey lands a good shot, ****in talk about it instead of talkin about "he can't deal with Pac's speed".

 

To be honest i'd prefer if they just used the HBO commentary . One of the things i like about HBO is they have a translator for spanish speaking fighters.

 

If we didn't have the sky commentators for these fights, we'd have the international feed comms like Setanta had, not the HBO ones.

The promoters provide separate graphics, comms etc. for international viewers. Sky just add their own commentary instead of Colonel Bob and whoever he is with. Hence those funky Top Rank graphics and those old HBO ones for Golden Boy shows.

So unless there is some loophole, or there is no separate international commentary, we won't ever get the HBO ones.

Once again, he'd already decided the outcome of the fight before it had even started. His views on that 1st round were ridiculous. Why was he praising Floyd so much when **** all had happened? Why was he constantly telling us that Mosely's corner should pull him out?? The funniest thing though was when he tried to convince us that Floyd was not looking for the KO anymore because of his respect for Mosely?? Total nonsense.

He's a terrible commentator.

 

This is why i watched it on HBO and never had any of the problems you lot had.
