    Yep.

Memo to Andre Ward: You're working with (former?) PED-pusher-to-the-athletic-stars Victor Conte. You better make sure you're not in with Conte like Mosley was, or else you're headed for your own Ali-Holmes debacle such as the one Mosley and the boxing world disappointingly experienced last night.

As Ed Graney notes in his column, Saturday's victory by Floyd does almost nothing to enhance the pugilist's reputation and resume. That's the price you pay when you chase down a shot fighter like Mosley and still produce a safety-first dud such as last night's.

If you choose to fight 38-year-olds who were schooled by the likes of Ricardo Mayorga, your legacy will suffer the consequences.

Floyd Mayweather has often made such decisions, and he and his fans have to live with the fallout.

Retrospectively, he will receive huge credit. If you destroy the #3 lb for lber (Ring) it's always going to b seen as impressive. You can say that is righr or you can say that is wrong (for me it's right) but any idea that it adds little to his resume is not accurate. It will be seen as his best win unless he beats Pac.

You are probably correct, but this is akin to saying that the hottest girl the class geek when out with was still a buck-toothed "4" out of a scale of 10.

Floyd has made these choices since he went to 140+. He's made a lot of money, and he's fooled a lot of people.

At some point though, the bill comes due. You can only fight so many coming-off-a-loss Judah's and 35-year-old Baldomir's before people begin to see the man behind the curtain.

Mosley could be the final straw for a skeptical boxing public and punditry. Making a 38-year-old known drug cheat coming off of 2 out of 3 poor performances out to be some existential threat just isn't credible. The Margarito victory was nice (cheat beats cheat), but it wasn't nearly fragrant enough to deodorize what happened versus Mayorga or Cotto.

Particularly given that two more years had passed since Mayorga showed the world that Mosley was past it.

Ten years from now people will look at Floyd's resume' and see names like Mosely, Hatton, Castillo, Chavez, Corrales, et, and be impressed. Most will forget that when the welterweight division was smoking hot Floyd retired, and only came back after it cooled off.

If you want to believe you're going to actually end up choosing the cup with the ball under it, you will believe so.

Even though every time Floyd makes you think you're getting the ball, the cup ends up barren underneath.

It's a con game. But there is no shortage of fools who want to believe, and so the game goes on.
