If you didn't have to go and quote my post, I could've gotten away with amending it...!

Shane's performance was extraordinarily disappointing. He ignored Naazim's pleadings and fought Floyd all wrong. Floyd actually psyched him out and those big right hands that almost put Floyd down in round 2 did nothing to improve things for Shane. He was amateurish ...correction... he was made to look amateurish by a superior boxer.

I'll say this --Floyd is now officially great in my book. He fought Shane, and therefore improved his resume. In so doing, he had to finally overcame adversity. And he reduced the most experienced and dangerous man in the division to a sparring partner. Shane was stiff, starry-eyed, outclassed, and bewildered.

I've said it before, Floyd should have faced Cotto, Margarito, and Williams. He could have beaten them all. Now he's 33 and has finally done what Ray Leonard did at 23: Accept and defeat a serious challenge.

Given the lesser, though still solid challengers he has already defeated, Floyd is no longer "allegedly" or "probably" great. He's great. Period.

Consider this: Mayweather is looking at Martinez. He's thinking on the MW champion of the world. I speculated that Mayweather could beat Pavlik years ago...I wonder if he is up for this or just teasing us.

Well at least your acknowledgeing it. FLoyd wasnt a welterweight at 23, he wasnt a welterweight at 30, and people need to realize that. I think people need to reconsider their opinions of his past opponents as well, and recognize that his abilities are the cause for a lot of those one sided defeats.

Was superb by Mayweather, SH summed it up well.

Shane just lacked that urgency in his work. He needed to DO, but he withered and did not fully commit allowing Floyd to be first with counters or leads and controll Shane.

I've seen this fight only once, and was pretty hammered, but what could Mosley have done? In all seriousness, he was just utterly out-classed. As soon as Mayweather found his rhyme and reason, Mosley was adrift on Sea **** Creek without a paddle in the Land Of The Giants with both hands tied behind his back upside-down in a sack in a coffin on fire. He didn't have the jab to disrupt Floyd and he didn't have the speed to check him.

He could have not let Mayweather get his timing and rythm like he did early on. Stab that jab into the chest, step in with the overhand right and rough him up on the inside.

After that second round Mosley began to hesitate and give Mayweather the time and comfort to do what he wanted to do, and get established. If Mosley kept his authority and fully commited to his shots he could have made it a better fight.

No he lacked the ability in his work and Floyd should get a lot of credit for that.

He flat out felt that he couldn't do that. Both the power and speed of Money surprised him, I think. He felt that getting hit was the price fo both stepping in with the jab and as for stepping in with the overhand right, well Mosley just got killed trying to do that, didn't he?

He definitely had the speed, he just never had the ability. Just like Pac, his only shot was to land something big, which he did, but couldnt capitalize on it.

Good observations. But Mosley still had the potential to do it, Mayweather discouraged him and should be praised for it, but Mosley could have and should have stuck with his game plan. Instead of making slight adjustments and getting on with the job at hand, he hesitated.

He showed it could be effective in round 2, but Mayweather discouraged him and he lost his way.

I felt Nazim Richardson's advice was spot on to Mosley throughout but he needed to be more direct in delivering it and driving it home to Shane, but perhaps he knew it was lost aswell.

Nah, I disagree with you. His foot-speed was lacking and when he threw he missed a lot because Mayweather was faster in ducking out. To me,that's a derth of speed.

Not saying that Shane was slow, just to slow for Money.

GP, I do disagree with you. I think that Money has been sorely underestimated in this thread. Making a plan, looking for splits in the armour, that's all good and theoretically correct, but I disagree with you that Sugar had the ability to do it. He was to slow, to do the things you are suggesting and he was getting hit to hard on the way back to persist. That was the realiy of the fight as I see it at this time. And that's the rub. Sugar went in ranked #3 pound for pound by the Ring. Was he overated? Yeah. Does he belong in the 10? Unquestionably! And still, for me, he is just not good enough to take advantage of Mayweather's weaknesses.

This talk of a blueprint has been enlightening and interesting and fun. What Money has proven, to me anyway, is that it's worth **** unless you are absoltley exceptional in every way - because Sugar is damn good.

And NOT good enough to win 2 rounds on my card.

I don't think Mosley could have won the fight, looking back on it. But he could have performed better, if he stuck to the gameplan.

I honestly beleive Mayweather is a top, top class fighter. One of the best ever. Definitly a top 50 type fighter, in my eyes anyway. I think Pacquiao is the only fighter who has a legitimate chance against Mayweather, and even then I favour Mayweather.

I think Pac is going to get knocked out.
