i'm a merchant fan, but he did seem to push the boundaries a bit last night. i think it was a bit disrespectful to tell shane 'You've been fighting 18 years. Why were you tight?"

Larry is getting bored and annoying now.

HBO should get Teddy Atlas!!!!! That would be the bomb!

Merchant, Lampley and Manny Steward are nearing the end of their nights at HBO........ It is quite obvious to me that Kellerman, Papa and Lenny Lewis are being groomed to take control of the prime telecasts in the next year or two.......

yeah Larry is a douche bag and should have been fired years ago. they should only hire people who have experience with boxing.

I like Teddy but he would get on HBO on talk about controlling distance for 5 hours straight. No one wants to hear that ****.

Well, for Christ sakes, Larry Merchant is at age 78 here in 2010......... In reality, Merchant has been covering and calling boxing longer in his career than that of the late Don Dunphy......

The only other announcer who called sporting action at an older age than that of Larry Merchant is the late voice of the Lakers--Chick Hearn who was in his 80s when he called his last game back around 2002.......

I haven't been back home in L.A. since 2005 and I'm not sure if Vin Scully still calls the Dodger home games for channel 11 anymore...... I think Scully is done now.?.?

Vin Scully had a classic / distinct voice...........

    :happy

The interview wasn't good either. You could tell he tried irritating Floyd but Floyd composed himself. He was saying it was "nothing unexpected." Most people wouldn't have bought a fight in which they thought Mayweather was just going to dominate. I think most would be skeptical to see it... because who envisioned that?
