PBF or Pac, whose legacy suffers more if "no fight"?

If this fight doesn't happen, it doesn't happen. Their careers will go on and they are still greats with or without this fight. Neither's legacy is going to be affected. This fight isn't happening and I doubt I'm wrong.

 

PBF's, but only because he's undefeated.

 

I think they would both suffer equally, not that either would be considered "worse" boxers but because they will have factions of the boxing public that never relinquish their current positions of "Mayweather is scared" or "Pacman cheats". They would both suffer long term from not making this happen for the fans, because the memories and perceptions of the fans will ultimately determine their "legacy".

Floyd needs Pacquiao more.

 

Clearly Pac. Objective observers will rightly claim he is overrated .

 

I think, if there is no fight between them, things will end up like this:

Pacquiao will be considered greater, but he will always be questioned about the rejection to take the blood tests. Mayweather will not be considered so great as Pac, and will be considered a waste of talent who could have fought Pac, Cotto, etc.

Before last night it was Mayweather easily. Mayweather went up a few spots in everyone's mind but Pacquiao still has the deeper resmue and it more impressive with his recent victories.

Both fighters legacy will take a hit if the fight isn't made but Floyd hasn't been called "Kenducky Floyd Chicken" for no reason. He has been labeled a ducker for years now and Pac has been known to fight just about everyone.

 

I think Pac's. Pac has moved up into Floyd's division, and now Floyd is the guy in the division. It is up to Pac if he wants to fight the guy in the division. After beating Shane, Floyd don't need to prove anything in the welter weight, he can always move up to 154 and reclaim that division too if he chooses to.

Pac only has Floyd to fight to cement his legacy, but Floyd still has the guys in the 154 division to fight.

 

Floyds division? Floyd was retired when Pac moved up to 147 and destroyed Oscar and then he KO'd Cotto the man who beat a younger Mosley for a belt when Mayweather didn't even own a strap.

It is hardly Mayweather's division and Pacquiao can move down to 140 and fight Bradley, Ortiz, Maidana, and Alexander if he wants to. Both fighters need this fight but both have options also.

 

It would be very silly to suggest their legacy will suffer if they fail to fight one another. Both guys have been exceptional in their careers, attaining tremendous victories against great opposition. They're at that point where their can only be deteriorated if they go on to lose to lesser fighters (like Roy Jones did), not by failing to fight one another.
