Clottey was landing nice punches when Pac would rush in...Floyd would take huge advantage of that..NOT TO MENTION THAT FLOYDS D IS BETTER THAN JOSHUA'S DEFENSE...Floyd also "throws" behind his high guard where as Joshua stays there and doesn't do much feinting....Floyd would have an easy night counterpunching considering the official best fighter in the world was getting counterpunched by JMM....

After last night Floyd knocks Manny in around 10 rounds..too much size, speed, PRECISION..PLUS FLOYD KNOWS HOW TO HOLD ON WHEN HE IS HURT AS WAS PROVEN LAST NIGHT..

    MAYWEATHER KO PAC 10:hat

See the bold part? That's where I stopped reading. Pacquiao put his hands down to encourage Clottey to trade with him.

If Clottey puts his hands up like he did to Pac, Floyd would not land a thing either (even though he'll win). There's nothing Floyd can do to prevent Clottey from going into a shell.

So this "analysis" doesn't prove much. Pac won every round anyway. Yeah he got tagged a bit, I mean the guy never threw a shot, he had the element of surprise when he did throw. I'd like to see how good Floyd looks vs Clottey, I guarantee it won't be a pretty performance. He won't do a thing to Clottey when it comes to clean connects unless Clottey decides to come out of his shell. Against the lighter hitting Floyd, hmm maybe he would.

I agree with pattern fighter. Pac is one dimensional. Mayweather will stop Pac if they fight. TKO is my call.

beat probabaly. destroyed? nah, floyd has been aggressive in a fight against someone who has gassed-out early and now he will destroy pacquiao? you guys thinks floyd is now a non-stop offensive machine after just one fight with an aging veteran. :yep

Floyd would be dragged into a war with Pac, he will not be able to keep at range and outbox Manny for 12 rounds, because nobody can hold him off. Floyd has never fought anybody as fast or as relentless as Pacquiao. Manny will get in his face and trap him against the ropes and throw combinations at him.
Floyd would have to try and put Manny on the back foot and set the pace of the fight to his pace. It really is a 50/50 fight. And anybody who says one would destroy the other gauranteed doesn't have a clue.

The only guys that can beat Mayweather at this point are great welterweight fighters. Manny is a great fighter in his own right, but I'm not sure if you can consider him a great welterweight fighter at this point.

It's possible that Pac's movement, speed, and short stature may allow him to slide in and tag Mayweather occasionaly, but more than likely Mayweather's excellent skills will be too much for Pac and after a few rounds, he'll make the proper adjustements and put on a dominant performance.

I'm just not sure Pac gets low enough to slide in on Mayweather while avoiding his punches, and the fact that he's a southpaw may not work in his favor because Mayweather can play a pure counterpuncher in this particular fight and lead Manny into right hands.

And the fact that Mayweather appears very big and strong at this weight, he'll have the strength to tie Manny up in the clinch.

Manny is a true fighter and he will always put on a show, but I think Mayweather is too much for him.

I agree that Mayweather would beat Pac and it's true that Manny is one dimensional, but many dominant fighters were one dimensional.

Tyson, Pryor and Marciano are some that come to mind.

Sometimes that one dimension that they have is too much for any opponent.

    It just depends.

In this case, I think an aggressive style can be used to beat Mayweather because no one is superhuman, but you need the right guy to use that particular gameplan.

Right now, that guy doesn't exist.

GASSED OUT...HE WAS GETTING COUNTERED EVERY TIME HE WOULD THROW MAN...HAD THAT BEEN MARGARITO IN THERE WITH MOSLEY LAST NIGHT TRUST THE FIGHT WOULDA BEEN A KO VICTORY OVER TONY AGAIN IN THE SAME EXACT FASHION..

ALSO ALL THESE FIGHTERS "GAS OUT" DURING THEIR FIGHTS WITH FLOYD....THEY GET WEAKER AS TIME GOES...I DONT THINK ITS THEM "GASSING OUT" AS U PUT IT..ITS FLOYD COUNTERING WHICH MAKES THEM NOT PUNCH ANYMORE MORE SO THAN WHAT U SAYING...

MY SOURCE IS HIS RECENT FIGHTS BACK TO BRUSELES...

MOSLEY WAS GETTING COUNTERPUNCHED AND QUIT THROWING

JMM BECAME LESS BUSY AS TIME WENT ON AND QUIT THROWING

HATTON WASN'T AS BUSY LATER IN THE FIGHT NOR AS PRECISE WITH HIS PUNCHES

OSCAR QUIT THROWING THE JAB CUZ FLOYD WAS COMING OVER THE TOP OF IT

ZAB WAS GETTING PRESSED AND WE SAW WHAT HE DID TO GET OUT THE DRAMA

MITCHELL WAS GETTING HIT WITH VERY ACCURATE BODYSHOTS WHEN HE WOULD TRADE WITH FLOYD

    ARTURO THREW IN THE TOWEL..

SO ALL THESE GUYS GAS OUT...CMON...THE STYLE AND FLOYD'S COUNTERPUNCHING IS WHAT TAKES THESE GUYS HEARTS AND MAKES EM "GAS OUT"..WHEN U LOSING N UR MIND N U CANT GET THAT ONE SHOT U LANDED EARLIER THATS WHEN U LOST...NO DESIRE TO THROW..

SO TO ALL THAT BS TALK WITH THE "SHANE GASSED OUT"..MAYBE THATS PART OF IT....BUT I THINK FLOYDS STYLE WAS MORE

AFTER ALL..SHANE SURE AS HELL DIDN'T GAS OUT AGAINST A PHYSICAL PRESSURE FIGHTER LIKE MARGARITO WHO HE HAD TO SPEND A LOT OF ENERGY ON:deal

FOOTWORK IS KEY IN "FIGHTING YOUR FIGHT"...FLOYD HAS SUPERIOR FOOTWORK IN COMPARISON WITH MANNY...MANNY WOULD BE FORCED INTO A TECHNICAL BATTLE RATHER THAN FLOYD BEING FORCED...FLOYD WOULDN'T LET MANNIE GET THOSE SIDE STEPS ON HIM TO GET THOSE HARD SHOTS OFF....

AGAIN...FOOTWORK IS EVERYTHING IN BOXING..IT MAKES UR PUNCHES AND IT ALLOWS U TO GET OFF HARD SHOTS WITH AN ANGLE....WHAT HAPPENS WHEN MANNY IS FORCED INTO A "BOXING MATCH WITH FLOYD?" NOT THE OTHER WAY AROUND...:good

Floyd's D can never be as good as Clottey's was against Pac because Floyd actually tries to win fights.
