    as for the thread,

What i noticed about the fighter saul Alvarez, his punches are great.

But most mexican fighters are lacking rythem and athleticism that translate into footwork such as fighting off teh back foot.... They are usually trail horses who break opponents down with textbook work and toughness with a come forwared approach.

Saul Alvarez does not completely have the athletic ability to match the style that he employs.

He is great fighter....good prospect. But there will be other fighters who are gonna test him and i hope his chin holds up!

He is 19 years old, he's not a finished product yet, he obviously needs to work on his defense, I hope his handlers notice this and send him with a trainer focus more in defense for a while he is still young he can learn a lot of tricks

    agreed.....100%

but what i mean was for example.....he gets into the rope and employs the shell defense sometimes. u have also seen this in past fights.

I mean to do the shell defense, you have to have supreme coordination. he does have good coordination but its not like he has masssive body speed. cotto was able to corner and alvarez is not superb fighitn off the back foot although he sets up that way. he stayed too long in the corners.

a few times when he circled the ring, he does a bounce and maybe i am overanalyzing but it just does not seem natural....but more as him being well trained....

having said all of this, over time, with the right people, and with his current style he might be able to emulate erik morales and MAB who did not fight with those TRADITIONAL mexican styles as well.

I was watching the fight on Foxtel in Australia and one of the comentators joked that an irishman must have flown over to Mexico and met Alvarez's mother; was pretty funny but I was quite surprised the commentator would say something like that on tv!

i am very educated, it was trying to be funny, and i understand it was not. It like when Chris Rock makes fun of white people.

Lets move on and discuss boxing.

    fair enuff,

i make racists jokes all the times with my friends bc we are secure enough to know that we are not racists and that these are not issues that effect our real behavior, for us its a good laugh.

i cant expect the same thing over the internet.
