Realistically. What do u think mayweather has to do to be considered the greatest. Sinced he talks himself to be that. Personally I think he needs to fight pacquiao. I also want him to fight besto. So he can have a fresh prime oppenent that was coming up. At welterweight
Also. He needs to fight sergio martinez. For the middleweight championship. And to end it so there won't be question why he is the greatest fight the winner of the super six. Whic I believe will be ward. That would leave him at 45 and 0. I believe he can go as high as super middle wight. U have to consider he still hasent really taken punish ment. And sergio is a little middleweight. Another route he can take is go 50 and 0 beat marcianos record. But have paul. William paquiao. Berto in there

He first needs to become the greatest of his generation by beating Pac.

    Win a belt at HW.

I don't think fighters in the modern era can ever be compared with guys that have 100+ fights. Robinson's place atop the p4p throne is secure until they start fighting 12+ times a year again.

If he beats Pacquaio, shuts Williams up at 154, fights Martinez and beats him, I would consider him the best welterweight ever (outside of SRR).

If he stays at welter and beats Pac, Berto, and whatever fighter comes up the rank in the welter void to come, then he'd be great, but his reign would be over a division not quite what it was.

He'll never be the greatest if the analysis doesn't just consider talent. There's no comparing with a guy like Ray Robinson that fought so many times, and quite often the next best fighter available, again and again...and again.

Probably nothing, because he just doesn't have the same caliber of opponent readily available that people like Ali and SRR did. He can make some ATG lists by taking down opponents like Pacquiao, Berto, and Williams though

I agree with some of the above post--there is nothing he can do to overtake SRR as the P4P GOAT. May has got maybe 2-3 bug name fights left really then that's it.

I sometimes think also. That the past. Fighters get too much respect for what they did. Its like mayweather says. Now a days ppv and tv controls. The fight game.

    Unattainable.

Floyd just needs to fight and beat Manny Pacquiao, and then he can retire as far as I'm concerned. If he wishes to push himself further and move up a division and take on the likes of Martinez or Williams, that's huge.

He could be considered the greatest little guy, but guys like Robinson and Leneord were all at least three inches taller than him with longer reaches. He is up with with talent, chin and such, but you have to go with size. A good big man beats a good little man most of the time. Beating Pacquiao, Berto and Williams will shut a lot of detractors up. I wouln'd want to see Floyd go up to 160, though. I think that would be too much to ask of him. He's definately one of the best. As far as boxing IQ's go, he might be the greatest. He makes the best in-ring adjustments of any fighter I've seen.

Pacman has more chances of becoming the greatest of all time.

    Mayweather would need the following:

    147: Fight Pacman and Bradley/Berto.
154: Fight Cotto/Foreman, fight Spinks/Cintron or Williams. Unify.
    160: Fight Martinez or Sturm.

Floyd would need, approximately, 6 fights. That's 3 or 4 years. It's impossible for Mayweather to do this, because he is already 33 and getting past his prime.
