Its been posted ****ing twice now WTF is a matter with people atsch Check post #13 and #21 if you still cant find it. We are only on page 3
ODLH is an exception because he bridges the divide. He is as american as George Bush but he is also a latino. Besides, he is a mainstream personality, whose face can be seen in big hollywood functions, well liked, and adored. Winning the only Olympic gold medal for US in that olympics helped a lot as well, as well as good looks. There was a demographic survey of ODLH fans and apparently, women comprised a big majority of it.
WTF do you know about economics. For several years now, boxing PPVs do not genrate enough interest that even fights among well known (to a boxing fan) american fighters does not do very well. Are you still thinking about boxing's glory days!!!!!! Wake up! That has gone several years ago. Only the likes of Pac, Mayweather, and a few are genrating interest. All I am saying is that economics of today's boxing is different and not a knock to Floyd's drawing power. You are a sensitive ****! Afterall, those early numbers might prove erroneous and voila, it actually generated more than the Hoya fight. Do you always put a spin to everything or do you always interpret other people's posts as something derogatory against Mayweather? *******! Are you having your menses?
Keep praying bro! Pacquiao and Mayweather negotiations should work itself either way. Make the damn fight happen Arum. Everybody is already rich let the fans have what they want.
This fight was mentioned everywhere and all radio, tv, magazines, babershops just peeps on the street knew and was talking about it.
At the post-fight press conference, Oscar De La Hoya introduced Mayweather as "not only the best fighter on the planet, but yesterday, today or tomorrow, the pay-per-view king". Granted, he's got motives for overstating it in order to retain some leverage in future negotiations, but he's also in a position to be keeping an eye on the known numbers and I doubt he'd have said it the way he did unless he had a fairly good idea that it was going to be pretty large.
Oscar was always more accepted by the American media more than by Mexico or the Mexican American community here.He was seen as too pretty looking and not as raw or blood and guts as other mexican fighters. He was pretty American as far as being of Mexican heritage and being successful in America. That was back when we didn't mind them
I'd honestly be shocked if Pac Cotto outsold the Mayweather-Mosley fight. People I know of who don't watch boxing knew about Mosley.Figured it would sell better than that.
