I think it is more that it had been talked up to be more, did Floyd say 4 million at one point? Either way, we don't even know if it is true or not and if it is, it's still a big figure.
as far as hardcore support from mexicans, yes. Don't get me wrong. You don't sell the most PPVs ever by simply having a handsome mug. but i'm sure a lot of guys were able to spend extra money on his fights because their women like how he looked. He was just never as accepted.that's a general consensus from a lot of hispanic boxing fans i know.it didn't hurt his selling power because everyone else generally loved him
I think Schaefer reallly,REALLY overestimated with his 4 million mark guess. He really swung for the fences on that one..or he bought into the hype of his own promotion. The numbers are great for boxing as a whole as someone else stated but it could really show that Mayweather's drawing power is only slightly ahead of Manny's at the moment if it only does slightly more than Pac Cotto.
I would be shocked if it did more than 1.5 million. This is a huge fight but Mosley doesn't draw like Pacquiao, Hatton, Cotto, or Mayweather. Hell Cotto did almost 500k buys fighting Margarito while Shane got him on regular HBO.
1.3-1.4 million is still huge numbers were talking 75-80 million in PPV revenue. Considering Pac vs. Clottey did 700k with Clottey being no draw whatsoever, no 24/7, and no commercial promotion a Mayweather vs Pacquiao fight should be 50/50 if Mayweather/Mosley does less than a million five.
youve been licking Floyds butthole religiously, wonder if youre getting anything for doing what you do best.
